I was introduced to drill as a genre by Dutchavelli's Bando Diaries remix ft. divine It is my top sub-genre rn and as someone who has heard drill from several countries at this point I want to say Indian Drill Tracks suck except a few

It was good when only a few people were making these tracks because of the novelty it had. Now every fucking rapper has a song with a drill beat and just go chopper mode on it. That same 100words per minute rao god flow just to hide the fact that they aren't able to flow on a drill beat. Or if they are in a better mood they will use the basic drill flow.

Just listen to any sucessful drill artist from Europe. They use drill beats and still manage to make it sound unique and groovy everytime. For eg: Tion Wayne - I dunno, wid it, body remix, keisha becky remix, J' Mapelle remix

Benjamin Saint Fort was hiking in Pennsylvania when his friend played "Sanam Re," the title song of the 2016 Hindi film. The song opens with a simple acoustic guitar riff and a vowel-y vocal run that is both ominous and calming at once. "I was like, 'What is this?! This would sound crazy on a drill beat,'" Saint Fort told VICE.

A few weeks later, the young producer chopped the sample, made a drill beat, complete with the panning hi-hats and sliding 808s, and grabbed an isolated vocal from Metro Boomin's "Up to Something," featuring Young Thug and Travis Scott. The beat took about 30 minutes to create, he told VICE. As Saint Fort knew, he was touching on a storied relationship between Bollywood and hip-hop.

The video for "Sanam Re" has over 350 million plays on YouTube, and I told Saint Fort I felt like a bad Indian because I was not one of those plays; I'd never even heard of the song before. It doesn't appear to be the first time it's been sampled, and Saint Fort himself said he was sure someone must've used this loop before. There's a song "Exposing Me" by Memo 600 and King Von that flips the same vocal.

He recalls "Scott [Storch] played everything and never sampled" while "Timbo samples heavyyyy" he said in a text message. The twang of the sitar, and the fluid thump of a tabla drum, or looped falsetto singing are often signature features of the tracks. He pointed to the Truth Hurts song Addictive" produced by DJ Quik, Timbaland & Magoo's "Indian Flute," and Beyonc's "Baby Boy" and "Naughty Girl," both produced by Storch.

Though Saint Fort made the Bollywood trap beat in question (Hindrill?) it's not his usual style of production. The son of Haitian immigrants, 25-year old Saint Fort is a recently moved from Upper Darby, Pennsylvania to Los Angeles. His producer name is BNYX, (pronounced Benny X.) In the last four years, Saint Fort has gone from making "type beat" type beats in 2016 to earning production credits with high-profile acts like Ty Dolla $ign and Shy Glizzy, with aspirations to work as a pop music producer. Still, he's often making videos with an attempt to go viral, he told VICE, and this song was just one of those ideas.

Saint Fort put out his remix for free, so he's avoiding another common thread of Bollywood samples in hip-hop: lawsuits. Both Aftermath Records (who put out "Addictive,") and Timbaland have faced legal issues for lifting Bollywood samples, though Indian copyright law is not as strong as it is in the United States. It's come full-circle, too, Indian musicians have ripped off American artists who were incorporating Indian music into their songs. For example, see "Gela Gela Gela," the Kirkland Signature version of R&B singer and indicted sex criminal R. Kelly's "Thoia Thoing." Bollywoodcopy.com has an entire website dedicated to pointing out these "inspirations."

"Whoopty" is the debut single by American rapper CJ. The song was initially self-released on July 30, 2020, before being re-released by Warner Records following his signing to the label. The song reached number 10 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart in February 2021, as well as number three in the UK and the Billboard Global 200 top 10. It was produced by the Cypriot producer Pxcoyo and samples Arijit Singh's "Sanam Re" (2015). The song was officially remixed by fellow American rappers French Montana and Rowdy Rebel, titled "Whoopty NYC", and by Puerto Rican rappers Anuel AA and Ozuna, titled "Whoopty Latin Mix".

The song contains a sample of the Indian song "Sanam Re" (2015) by Arijit Singh and Mithoon, a sample shared by multiple other drill songs by rappers such as Pop Smoke, King Von, FBG Duck, and Lijpe.[1] It is reminiscent of Brooklyn drill and marks a departure from CJ's melodic rapping.[2] CJ said he received comparisons to late American rapper Pop Smoke, because of the song's drill sound. He said in an interview with HipHopDX that Pop Smoke's absence inspired "Whoopty", who he considers the artist that popularized the music style.[3] He attributed its popularity to the energy conveyed in the track and its video.[2]

Pitchfork's Alphonse Pierre wrote that while the song "may be the biggest drill record of the last several months", "everything about it is so painfully unoriginal" in that it combines "Pop Smoke's uk drill production with 22Gz's lingo".[4] In an earlier piece for the same site, Pierre felt the lyrics "might as well have been spit out by a machine trained on the Raps and Hustles YouTube page" and concluded that "[T]he only good thing to ever come out of Staten Island remains the Wu-Tang Clan".[5] Tom Breihan of Stereogum had similar critiques for the song, though he added, "The song works. It moves."[6]

Sidhu Moose Wala, an Indian rapper turned politician whose songs racked up more than 4 billion views on YouTube in less than four years, was shot and killed on Sunday while driving near his home in India. He was 28.

According to PNEU time-tables, drill and singing were done every other day in the same time slot midway through every morning lesson from 10:20 (10:25 in Forms V and VI) until 10:50. Mason says a change is as good as a break, so I believe she utilized this portion of the day both as an educative and recreative lesson. What a lovely and practical way to have recess! While the children are moving and singing with delight, they are also getting physical exercise and developing musical skills.

Drill and singing are done every day during the time period allotted. My guess is the time was divided evenly between the two subjects. Sol-fa lessons were completed by these forms and so students were singing English and Foreign folksongs and choral pieces. These forms are of course easier to adjust for our five days of school. Just sing and do drill every day for 25-30 minutes and do it for fun when you can on Saturdays!

I think we can infer from this that there is freedom in how you use the drill books from week to week. I think there are times to do the exercises without music simply in rhythm with one another so the children can pay full attention and listen to the drill commands. Then there are times for drill to be done with music for musical training and delight.

I am still doing research into this area, but there are a couple things I have found so far that I would like to draw attention to that seem to help answer this question for me. The primary lesson book for drill that was suggested in the PNEU programmes was the Syllabus for Physical Exercise (or Training) 1909 and 1919. This first quote is from the 1919 version in a section about teaching younger children, so this quote relates to Form 1.

I think it shows that occasional music with running, marching, skipping and jumping drills from the tables adds pleasure and that there are also some musical games which should be included at the end of the primary morning lesson. When I have looked over those tables, every single one ends with a marching, running, or jumping drill and/or a game. So I think that it was perfectly fine for drill lessons to end with musical accompaniment.

This indicates to me that Swedish Drill from the syllabus book was being utilized in the schools in a modified fashion and that games and dancing steps were included on the drill tables to make the lessons enjoyable for the children.

I suspect that if there were dancing steps being done with rope skipping that music was also being used. This is reminiscent of the skipping songs we used to sing on the playground as girls. Singing helps keep the skipper in a steady beat.

Special forces of the Chinese military conducted drills in the region of Tibet, the state-run media reported on Friday. The drills included ground training for helicopter pilots in order to test their skills in the high altitude region.

This is the second military drill highlighted by the Chinese official media in Tibet over a fortnight. A military expert and TV commentator Song Zhongping told state-run Global Times that the latest military exercises prepared participants for a potential military confrontation with India.

Earlier, on June 29, official media had reported that Chinese military units stationed in Tibet carried out a drill testing armament support capabilities as well as military civil integration in the Himalayan region bordering India.

Training is tough and especially when you are training to don the uniform, it is even tougher. Sensing that training sometimes slightly dampens the spirit by making young recruits homesick, the drill ustaad of 10th Battalion of the Telangana State Special Protection Force, invented a rather unique way to get daily physical drills conducted. Mohammad Rafi, an assistant sub-inspector, who has made the Bollywood song 'Dhal gaya din, ho gayi shaam' a part of their marching drill, went viral for his drill over the social media.

A video of Rafi, who can be seen not only teaching drill to the recruits, also marches along with them while singing Mohd Rafi's song, with much josh and aplomb. The coincidence is that drill ustaad Rafi was singing legendary singer Mohd Rafi's song. They do not only share the same name but similar spirit too. 006ab0faaa
