Brief Bio...

Dr. Ujendra Kumar Komal leads the Advanced Composites Laboratory in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. He previously served as an Assistant Professor at National Institute of Technology Warangal, and pursued postdoctoral research at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. He received his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. 

His research focuses on polymer composites, additive manufacturing, sustainable materials, and natural fiber–reinforced biocomposites. With expertise spanning fabrication, characterization, surface modification, recycling, and degradation of composites. 

At IIT Guwahati, he actively contributes to teaching, research, and collaborative projects with academia, industry, and government agencies. His group’s vision is to advance green and advanced composite technologies for next-generation engineering solutions in energy, mobility, and structural safety.
