About Us
Gies Capital Association (GCA) is dedicated to the study of capital markets and investment strategies, bridging accounting, financial management, and asset management. We conduct quantitative analyses on total funding, yield returns, stock prices, and market capitalization.
Accounting Department leads members in case competitions and project development. Tax and audit are involved along with mutiple projects and trainning.
Finance Departmenr provides industry overviews and real world company projects regarding mangment and analytics. Regular sessions with industry mentors and Professors ensure our members are well-prepared for the financial industry.
Techology Department consist with experts from UIUC CS & Data Science department. Data analysis using C++, Python, Java. In order to achieve data visulaization and analysis, stock forecast and quantitative trading are major section of the tasks, with simulated fund for trival and budgets allocated towards trading in market.

Gies Capital Association: Years in Review
Gies Capital Association has made significant progress in fostering a deep understanding of capital markets and investment research. Our membership has grown, engaging over 90 students from diverse backgrounds.
We launched the Capital Markets Research Initiative, providing hands-on experience in financial analysis and market forecasting. We also hosted events with industry leaders, enhancing our members' networking and industry insights.
The highlight of our year was the launch of the Gies Capital Association, a student-managed investment fund that offers real-world investment and tax experience. Our strong partnerships with faculty and industry have enriched our programs, and we've seen members secure internships and full-time positions in leading financial and accounting institutions.
As we look ahead, we’re excited to build on these successes and continue making a lasting impact on the Gies community.
