Association for

Women in Mathematics

University of Iowa Student Chapter

The Association for Women in Mathematics  (AWM) is a national organization whose purpose "is to create a community in which women and girls can thrive in their mathematical endeavors, and to promote equitable opportunity and treatment of women and others of marginalized genders and gender identities across the mathematical sciences."

Mission Statement:

The University of Iowa Student Chapter of the AWM is being founded to create a community that empowers minorities who have been marginalized due to their race and gender identities in the mathematical sciences. We wish to develop and grow our professional being through career workshops, study groups, and other activities. All genders and majors are welcome to attend our activities!
