Beyond core refugee settlement, social-educational, and wellness services, The Alliance houses several innovative social enterprises: Alliance Language Network, the Drivers Education and Mobility Center, and, The Community Cloth, a microenterprise initiative for artisan refugee women. The Marketing Intern will play an integral part in helping The Alliance achieve its goals by assisting with various marketing and communication-related tasks. The Intern will work closely with the Community Relations Director and other team members to carry out day-to-day responsibilities. The Marketing Intern will be responsible for creating engaging content for social media, assisting with market research, supporting sales and marketing strategies, providing excellent customer service, and carrying out various administrative tasks as needed.
Supporting the community relations director in implementing The Alliance PR strategy.
Creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms, and newsletters.
Updating and maintaining the company's social media pages.
Building relationships with clients and potential clients, suppliers, and the media.
Assisting the community relations director with the scheduling and organizing of events.
Giving input on marketing initiatives and suggesting creative ways to improve the organization's public image.
Researching marketing initiatives of other organizations.
Monitoring of media coverage on events and media releases that were issued and creating press clippings.
Updating media lists.
Performing administrative duties.
Strong communication skills, including written and verbal.
Ability to conduct market research and analyze data.
Experience in sales or customer service.
Understanding of marketing strategies and tactics.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Experience with Canva, WordPress, and Google Analytics.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
Passion for social justice and nonprofit work.
Pursuit of Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
