The Nehemiah Center’s mission is to assist low-income families who are invested in seeking a better future for their children through education, emotional wellness, and spiritual enrichment. Our center serves and follows children as toddlers through their college years by engaging and retaining family participation year after year, creating the opportunity to build trust and a sense of community through relationships.
The intern will plan, develop, and instruct students by taking the approved curriculum goals, standards, learning objectives, and experiences that will contribute to developing skills and academic achievement. They will plan and implement activities that promote the social, physical, and intellectual growth of children. The intern is also responsible for the daily management, supervision, learning, developmental activities, and redirection of children. They will handle the communication with parents, maintain meal count records, classroom cleanliness, and orderliness.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the DOE and/or Executive Director.
Complies with minimum standard guidelines and all regulations regarding the care of children by the COH Health Department.
Keeps the DOE informed of any information regarding the care and safety of children.
Completes timely and accurate documentation according to the COH Health Department.
Attends and participates in all staff meetings, center events, and parent/staff meetings.
Treat all children and parents with dignity and respect.
Participate in professional workshops.
Maintaining confidentiality about children and their families.
