Founded in 1992 by Pastors Rudy and Juanita Rasmus, Bread of Life, Inc. began by serving hot meals to Houston's homeless, quickly expanding to offer a broad range of services and support. In partnership with Beyonce's BeyGOOD and Tina Knowles-Lawson, they've conducted anti-hunger initiatives and disaster relief efforts. Nearly three decades later, Bread of Life continues to aid underserved communities in Houston through programs in homelessness, health, hunger relief, and their community radio station KMAZ The Amazing 102.5 FM.
Amazing 102.5 FM, a staple of the Houston community radio scene, as a Production Assistant. This role is perfect for those passionate about radio, eager to learn the ins and outs of radio production, and committed to supporting the creation of engaging, diverse, and community-centered content. Assist in the preparation and production of live and pre-recorded radio shows, ensuring smooth operations.
Support the Production Manager and other staff in setting up and maintaining studio equipment, including microphones, soundboards, and recording devices.
Help organize and archive audio files and program materials systematically for easy retrieval and reference.
Coordinate with hosts, guests, and team members to facilitate scheduling, communications, and studio logistics.
Contribute to the creative process by participating in brainstorming sessions and offering ideas for show segments and station promotions.
Provide administrative support as needed, including answering calls, managing emails, and assisting with documentation and paperwork.
Ensure compliance with station policies and broadcasting regulations during the production process.
Assist in managing the station's social media presence by creating content, responding to comments, and engaging with the community.
Strong interest in radio production, broadcasting, or media communications.
Basic technical proficiency and willingness to learn about audio equipment and production software.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a positive attitude and team-oriented approach.
High school diploma required; coursework or a degree in Broadcasting, Media, Communications, or a related field is a plus.
Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate production schedules.
