The Community Initiatives (CI) Intern will be responsible for assisting in numerous activities and supporting the CI team in various projects; as well as working with community groups and partners alongside the CI Team.
Regularly complete weekly reports updating supervisor on the status of their project.
Meet weekly with the CI Team.
Assist the CI Team in developing contact with neighborhood stakeholders.
Take pictures of CI events or projects for use in organizational promotion.
Support project communications and outreach including creating flyers and marketing materials.
Adhere to the employee guidelines as specified by Avenue.
Maintain the standards set by the policies and procedures of the CI department.
Willingness and ability to support the CI Team with various duties and tasks.
Currently in an undergraduate/graduate degree program with an interest in marketing, production, public relations, journalism, hospitality or communications, political science/advocacy, or non-profit management fields.
Graphic design and social media experience.
Strong in Microsoft Suite applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong communication skills, written and verbal, is helpful. Self-directed and takes initiative and comfortable speaking to all stakeholders (staff, vendors, community members/leaders, volunteers, etc.)
