Sisters Empowering S.I.S.T.A.S., Inc., is a four-year program designed for girls grades 9-12. The goal of the program is to empower participants with life skills, education, and guidance that will prepare them to lead well-rounded, balanced lives centered on their personal beliefs, interests, and goals. Through a series of programs and activities focused on real-world circumstances, S.I.S.T.A.S. (Strong Independent Sisters Tackling Any Situation) will provide program participants with skills that will shape their dreams, mold their minds, and in the process influence their character. Participants will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of content through discussions, exercises, and other hands-on activities centered on a variety of situations.

Primary Function:

The Youth Program Facilitator will engage and inspire youth grades 9-12 to learn and grow to be responsible adults, prepare and facilitate pre-selected 180 Program Curriculum, create educational activities that are fun and engaging, ensure that the 180 Program is run as per the direction of the Executive Director and in compliance with school district protocols, must monitor and evaluate situations quickly using good judgment to assess situations and make decisions, create and maintain a clean, safe environment for children and adults within the program space and must commit to the session schedule for the full term of the schools contracted sessions.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of SISTAS 180 Program

  • Promote and stimulate program participation

  • Provide guidance and role modeling to participants

  • Implement and administer educational based activities for children various ages; must be able to adapt to various learning styles

  • Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of the organization at all times

  • Prepare periodic activity reports and/or grant reports

  • Will need to interface with school personnel and build relationships with staff.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Education and Social Work majors

  • 1yr experience working with youth, Strong writing and verbal skills required

  • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

  • Valid driver license, good driving record, and provide proof of automobile insurance

  • Must pass a state and national background check
