Hope For Three (H43) Autism Advocates is a local 501c3 nonprofit and autism advocacy organization with a mission, "To reach one child, one family, one community by creating awareness and providing support to families living with autism spectrum disorder." Our vision is "To bring about positive social change and create an inclusive community where each child's unique abilities are acknowledged and fostered."

The objectives of our organization are to provide access to a higher quality of intervention services families might not otherwise afford, improve the quality of life for children with autism and their families, and increase awareness and acceptance of individuals with autism. Hope For Three's main goal is to enable children with autism to reach their full potential and become productive members of our community.

Primary Function:

The intern will report directly to the Philanthropy Director to gain practical experience and develop skills in the field of nonprofit management, support with assigned tasks, special projects, and events while maintaining confidentiality in all areas of job performance and joining an enthusiastic work environment with a strong company culture focused on missions, values, ethics, and outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

DEVELOPMENT

  • Assist with data analysis (organizing data, building lists)

  • Develop reports designed to empower and inform data-driven decision-making

  • Use research skills and persuasive writing to compose effective grant requests and reports

  • Assist with development and execution of stewardship plan for top- and mid-tier donors

  • Assist with awareness and fundraising events

MARKETING

  • Develop messaging for print, digital, and other marketing materials

  • Assist with web and social media content generation

  • Perform market research as needed

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to work sensitively with diverse populations

  • Organized, self-starter (follows through on tasks and goals)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient with technology (MS Office, Google, CRM/databases, social media)

  • Work calmly and effectively in high-stress situations; honest and ethical
