Since 1904, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is incredible potential. As the nation’s largest donor- and volunteer-supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes meaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”), ages 5 through young adulthood in communities across the country. We develop positive relationships that have a direct and lasting effect on the lives of young people.
Primary Function:
The Program Events Intern will support functions of the Agency’s Match Services department. This includes and is not limited to support of Match (Big/Mentor, Little/Mentee and Parent/Guardian) engagement and retention, assisting at Match events, and developing programs to encourage Match interaction and volunteer opportunities. The intern will help research, develop, and share activities and opportunities for Matches.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Administrative:
Fulfill Match Services tasks set out by supervisors from different departments
Attend meetings as needed
Perform research at a supervisor's request
Assist Program team with completing references and surveys
Match Engagement/Retention:
Research opportunities for Match Engagement activities, such as donated/discounted tickets, school supplies and holiday gifts, and other items of interest to Matches
Attend, facilitate and/or support program, community, and school virtual and/or in-person meetings
Continue development and implementation of High School Volunteer program to provide volunteer opportunities for teenage Littles/Mentees and High School Bigs
