How to Create Half-Page Cheap Postcards Using Avery Templates

1. Choose Your Avery Template
   Go to Avery’s website and search for “postcard” templates. For half-page postcards, look for templates like Avery 5389, 8386, or 3263 (these are 2 per sheet, 5.5" x 8.5" each).
   
   

2. Download or Open the Template
   You can use Avery Design & Print Online (no software needed) or download the template for Microsoft Word, Google Docs, or Adobe PDF.
   
   

3. Design Your Postcard
   
   

   • Use bold, simple headlines and big fonts for maximum impact.

   • Add your message, call to action, and contact info.

   • Don’t worry about making it “pretty”—ugly, attention-grabbing designs work!

   • You can add clipart, arrows, dollar signs, or even hand-drawn doodles for extra effect.

4. Add Your Details
   
   

   • Make sure your website, phone number, or QR code is easy to find.

   • If you want, add a testimonial or a “limited time” offer.

5. Print Your Postcards
   
   

   • Use standard 8.5" x 11" cardstock (65 lb or 80 lb works great and is cheap).

   • Print double-sided if you want to use the back for more info.

   • Use your home printer or take the file to a local print shop for bulk printing.

6. Separate the Postcards
   
   

   • Avery templates are perforated, so just fold and snap them apart.

   • If you use plain cardstock, cut the sheets in half with a paper cutter or scissors.

7. Mail or Hand Out
   
   

   • Address and stamp your postcards.

   • When mailing a large postcard, use a regular forever stamp, not a postcard stamp.
