University of Glasgow, Singapore is excited to invite polytechnic students across Singapore to participate in an upcoming hackathon focusing on innovative solutions, with a strong emphasis on the use of AI. This event is not only aimed at sparking creativity and fostering technological innovation but also serves to highlight the University of Glasgow's commitment to cutting-edge research and its prominence in the field of computing science.
Participants will have the unique opportunity to work on real-world challenges in the industry, providing them with invaluable hands-on experience and exposure to state-of-the-art AI technologies. The hackathon is structured to facilitate both intensive individual work and collaborative engagement, with robust mentorship support to guide participants through the ideation, development, and presentation phases.
Innovate for SDGs
This event invites students to develop tech solutions addressing UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
For example: work on SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being) by creating a mental health support app, or SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) through a renewable energy monitoring system.
Teams will learn to innovate sustainably, with a focus on social impact and environmental responsibility. This hackathon emphasizes creativity, problem-solving, and collaboration, empowering participants to contribute to global challenges while honing their technical and project management skills. Eligibility
Participants must be current Polytechnic students in Singapore
Participants must be at least 16 years old.
Each teams can consist of 2-4 members. Individual registrations are allowed (individuals will be combined into teams during Hackathon).
Open to all courses and disciplines. No specific technical background is required, though familiarity with coding, design, or project management is beneficial.
Prizes and Recognitions
First Prize: S$500 voucher
Second Prize: S$300 voucher
Third Prize: S$200 voucher
All participants will receive certificates of participation
