About
The Student Compost Cooperative (SCC) is a cross-disciplinary outreach program dedicated to promoting sustainability at the campus and community level. Organized by the BioEnergy and Sustainable Technology (BEST) Laboratory, the SCC was started to educate University of Florida (UF) students about the importance of food waste composting and provide an opportunity to compost their own food waste. The SCC encourages and trains students, faculty, and staff at UF and the Gainesville community to compost their food waste and to appreciate the value of recycling by turning this waste into natural fertilizers.About

We are located in the UF Energy Research & Education Park on SW 23rd Terr ↗︎ See map below.
We have a small parking area and a bike rack available.
There is a gate code - request access from an Student Leader after completing orientation.
Driving/biking directions:
If coming from campus, turn right onto Archer Rd.
Once you see signs for SW 23rd Terrace turn left and follow the street down until you see a sign on the right side of the road immediately after University Commons Apartments that says, "UF Energy Research and Education Park".
Once you turn into the park, take the right fork and continue around to the back of the park.
The composters are located behind Bldg. 246 and 245. See map below.
Bus directions:
Bus routes ↗︎ 9, 35, 36, & 37 from the Reitz Union all stop at our location. On the second map, we've indicated where the bus stop is relative to the composters.
