The Jam starts on Saturday the 6th of October at 00:00 UTC.
The Jam ends on Saturday the 13th of October at 00:00 UTC.
The game must be made with Unity.
It's a solo jam.
There is a theme that must be respected as well as basic mandatory features that must be implemented to match the theme.
For your game to be playable and testable, it must be built for at least one of the following platforms :
Windows
WebGL
You're free to use any graphical and audio resources you want, you don't have to create them from scratch.
You can use old code, tools, external libraries and assets from the Unity Store. But nothing that directly adds gameplay for you.
You must include the source code of your project made during the jam when submitting your game.
We highly recommend the game to be 2D. You can do as you want, but most provided resources (assets, links) will be about 2D.
Building for several platforms is easy with Unity!
Keep in mind that the more platforms you distribute your game to, the more chances your game has to be played and rated!
To be able to submit your game, please click on the button below to go to the Itch.io Jam Page and register to the gamejam !
The page will provide all the information regarding the submission of your game as well as the exact date for the start and the end of the event !
Shoot 'em up is a subgenre of the shooter genre of video games. In a shoot 'em up, the player character moves forward automatically, often in a flying vehicle such as a spacecraft or aircraft, shooting large numbers of enemies while dodging obstacles.

All the subgenres of Shoot 'Em Up you can find on the page above (Rail Shooter, Run 'N' Gun, Bullet Hell, etc...) are included within the theme !
Here are the mandatory features your game should have:
A controllable player character that can shoot.
Enemies that can damage the player and be destroyed by the player's shots.
The character can die after being hit a number of times.
You should be able to restart after a GameOver.
A score that represents something.
To allow you to focus more on building the features of your game, we provide you with some default assets that will allow you to get started faster. These assets come from OpenGameArt.org.
You can of course make your own assets or get some others than those given above. The best place to check is OpenGameArt.org, where all the assets are free!

Terrain (that you have to dodge).
Here are some useful links that may help you. They also indicate what is the jam about coding-wise (for the mandatory features at least).
