General Registration
Typically, Ucon offers early registration for incoming kindergarten students during an event in March called “Kindergarten Round-up.” The Round-up is to help District 93 ascertain incoming student numbers and growth for the upcoming school year. The general registration is for all students (including kindergarten students who registered at Round-up) and occurs the middle part of August prior to the beginning of school.
During the general registration classroom and lunch fees are paid, busing is established, and parents are informed of the classroom assignments of their children. Registration can be completed through the PowerSchool parent portal. Parents may consult the upcoming school year calendar on the District 93 web page to learn the precise general registration date for elementary schools.
Parents of students transferring from other schools should arrange to provide:
1) Up-to-date immunization records.
2) Proof of residency in the Ucon attendance area.
3) The child’s birth certificate.
When new students are registered during the school year, Ucon reserves the right to delay attendance one day so that the teacher may prepare to receive the student (desk, chair, computer data entry, etc.)
Withdrawal
If the need arises to withdraw your student from Ucon, please notify the office at least three days in advance so that we can prepare the transfer materials and smoothly transition your student to the new school. Please assure that all school property has been returned. The cost of missing materials, if a replacement is necessary, will be applied.
Open Enrollment
Ucon accepts students from other schools provided we have enough seats in our classes. If a class reaches 85% of capacity Ucon reserves the right to deny open enrollment.
Capacity is defined as:
23 students for K-1st
26 students for 2nd-3rd
32 students for 4th-6th grades.
If open enrollment is granted, the student will be required to meet all school attendance, behavioral, and classroom academic expectations, or the open enrollment could be subsequently denied. Open enrollment applications must follow District 93 policy and are required to be renewed every year.
