2024-2025
About the Mentorship Program
The EPAP/ESM Mentorship Program, offered through the ESP 198 course in the Department of Environmental Science and Policy (DESP) at UC Davis, is designed to give undergraduate students personalized guidance and support as they navigate career possibilities, academic pathways, and personal growth.
The program focuses on:
Help students gain insight into potential career paths, especially within environmental science, policy, and related fields.
Offer graduate school guidance, enabling students to decide whether further education aligns with their long-term goals.
Develop mentorship relationships, fostering both academic and personal growth through regular meetings and roundtable discussions.
Encourage professional networking by connecting students with experienced mentors and exposing them to real-world advice and experiences.
Support students' reflection and goal-setting through structured reflection papers, Individual Development Plans (IDPs), and workshops that help them identify and work towards achievable goals.
