Individual and Family as Clients
Community Health Nursing - is a sub-field of nursing that focuses on promoting and preserving the health and well-being of the community through collaborative efforts with members of the community, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
Health Promotion - This concept focuses on promoting and improving the health of the community these includes health education, promoting healthy behaviors, and creating awareness.
Disease Prevention - prevents the spread of diseases through various interventions such as immunization and education on sanitary practices.
Environmental Health - Community health nursing is also concerned with environmental health issues like access to clean water, air quality, sanitation, waste management, and pollution control.
Community Engagement - is an essential part of community health nursing. Nurses work with community members to create community-based initiatives, establish trust, and ensure that healthcare needs are met within the community.
Cultural Competency - Being culturally competent allows community health nurses to understand and appreciate the diverse values, beliefs, and practices of the populations they serve, which helps in providing culturally appropriate care.
Evidence-based Practice - This concept is important in community health nursing as it involves the use of the best available research evidence to guide clinical decision-making and practices. It helps nurses to provide quality care that is effective and safe for the population they serve.
Advocator - Responsible for advocating and evaluating clients' physical and psychological health conditions and providing interventions accordingly.
Manager/Supervisor - Formulates individual, family, group, and community-centered care plan; organize a workforce.
Trainer/Counselor - identifies and interprets training needs, arranges and conducts training programs to provide learning experiences to subordinates and clients
Change Agent - Responsible for promoting and teaching the client and their families about various aspects of health such as nutrition, exercise, and lifestyle modifications
Healthcare Provider - Work to prevent disease transmission and to prevent the onset of chronic disease by providing health screenings and immunizations.
Researcher - They play a role in research studies or may conduct their own research and surveys to improve healthcare practices and protocols within their community.
Individual - “point entry”
Family - the center of delivery of care.
Group - point of specific care.
Community - point of the entire care.

Bag Technique - is a tool that makes use of a public health bag and allows the public health nurse to perform procedures during home visits.
Public Health Bag (PHB) - is an essential and indispensable equipment of for the Public Health Nurse to use during home visits.
Primary Health Care - is a whole-of-society approach to effectively organizing and strengthening national health systems to support a person’s health needs, from health promotion to disease prevention, treatment, rehabilitation, palliative care, and more.
Primary Prevention - aims to prevent disease or injury before it ever occurs.
Secondary Prevention - aims to reduce the impact of a disease or injury that has already occurred.
Tertiary Prevention - aims to soften the impact of an ongoing illness or injury that has lasting effects.
