I have started using the new version of Microsoft Edge and I am loving it but ublock origin is not working on there . is it compatible with the new version of Edge or is this just a bug that will be fixed.

@HotCakeX This happened because the original creator of uBlock Origin did not support Microsoft Edge (Legacy) and had no plans to port it at the time. Nik forked it and made changes to make it run on Edge. He was able to release his version to the store and kept it up-to-date for awhile but it sounds like he got very busy and it became difficult for him to keep up.

Now that Edge is starting to support more extensions, and better ones, this is becoming a valid option for secure browsing. If I want to allow my users to use Edge, I would expect them all to have required security extensions - e.g. ad blocker (specifically I like uBlock origin, but there are others), and any other required extension...

I am running the chromium version of edge, and have installed ublock origin, and I just wondering how I could disable this script from being loaded on a site. either through overrides or ublock origin preferably

While this version of uBlock Origin was not created by the original team behind the browser extension it is still the real deal. Raymond Hill, the person behind uBlock Origin for Chromium and Firefox, created the extension as an open source project meaning anyone can grab the code and hack on it.

Rolls began uBlock Origin for Edge about five months ago and was able to get the extension functional in about an hour. He then began iterating that original version over the next few months until Microsoft got in touch around September. From the sounds of it, Rolls worked with Microsoft to iron out some major glitches and get the extension in shape for a Windows Store release.

uBlock Origin (/jublk/; "YOO-block"[5]) (previously uBlock and originally Block) is a free and open-source browser extension for content filtering, including ad blocking. The extension is available for Chrome, Chromium, Edge, Firefox, Opera, Pale Moon, as well as versions of Safari prior to 13.[6] uBlock Origin has received praise from technology websites and is reported to be much less memory-intensive than other extensions[7][8] with similar functionality.[9][10] uBlock Origin's stated purpose is to give users the means to enforce their own (content-filtering) choices.[11][12]

Since October 2017, uBlock Origin has been completely separated from Aljoudi's uBlock.[21] Aljoudi created ublock.org to host and promote uBlock and to request donations. In response, uBlock's founder Raymond Hill stated that "the donations sought by ublock.org are not benefiting any of those who contributed most to create uBlock Origin."[6] The development of uBlock stopped in August 2015 but there were sporadic updates from January 2017.[22]

In July 2018, ublock.org was acquired by AdBlock and resumed development.[23] From February 2019, uBlock began allowing users to participate in "acceptable ads",[24][25] a program run by Adblock Plus that allows some ads deemed "acceptable" and nonintrusive, and for which larger publishers pay a fee.[26]

uBlock Origin remains independent and does not allow ads for payment.[27] The project refuses donations and instead advises supporters to donate to maintainers of block lists.[6][28] Hill continued to work on the extension under the name uBlock Origin, abbreviated as uBO[29] and originally as uBlock0.[30]

In all other aspects, uBlock Origin for Edge isn't different from its versions for other browsers. So if you want to take an early look at it and aren't scared of hitting some rough edges, you can head to its Store page and download it from there.

uBlock seems to be a big offender (it seems "uBlock Origin" is the legit version, and "uBlock Pro" is the bad version), but I haven't found a way to uninstall it. I have seen some articles ( -ublock-fake-google-chrome-browser-extensions,40422.html) claiming there is a fake version of uBlock floating around, but the articles are old. There are other posts on Reddit which I'd link to, but I'm posting this from work and Redit is blocked.

I just installed uBlock from the MS Edge Add-ons site ( -origin/odfafepnkmbhccpbejgmiehpchacaeak) and it seems to be benign. I can disable it, and even remove it without a problem. But the version I'm seeing on student computers has the disable button greyed out, and there is no option to remove it in the extension manager. I think I could get rid of it by playing around in the registry, but that's a last resort.

guys I found the problem, I have ublock origin extension installed that blocks google analytics script used by mycloud for some reasons, I disabled the extension for this mycloud website and it works. probably the issue will appear also with some other adblock extension. e24fc04721
