Birding

The purpose of the Birding Course is to help less experienced birders and beginners with the identification of bird families and species and in general to try to make "birding" an enjoyable pastime.

This is achieved by monthly outdoor visits to local birding areas, and we have some of the top birders who come along and help make the outings both educational and fun.

We visit numerous venues close to Knysna, some of which are not open to the general public.

In the Winter months we join up with the Lakes Bird Club for their indoor talks on various bird topics at the St Francis Church Hall in Sedgefield. Thus the main objectives are to learn about the local birds and to have fun.
