You don’t have to say you’re sorry

Cause I won’t believe you

What you’ve done has showed me how you feel

You missed so many chances

To take me in your arms

It feels so much like none of this is real

You didn’t speak, you didn’t look

Was I there at all?

The Snow fell down and crushed my spirit

It was so heavy I couldn’t breathe

The Snow fell down and pinned me to the ground

But it melted away and now I’m free

You invite me to your party

Then you turn me away

Unless I leave who I am at the door

Why should I pretend I’m happy

When you don’t want me there?

You can’t use me to feel better anymore

You get what you want, but not what you need

I won’t be there at all

The Snow fell down and crushed my spirit

It was so heavy I couldn’t breathe

The Snow fell down and pinned me to the ground

But it melted away and now I’m free

I’m done being the lost one

It’s you that needs to grow up

I loved you and got nothing in return

I’m free from the cold chains you made

I’ll be on my way, the bridge is officially burned

The Snow falls down, I’m dancing to the sound

Of my own voice and you can’t speak

The Snow falls down and you’re nowhere to be found

Even in the storm I’m still me

I have a complicated relationship with the word Snow. There are times that Snow makes me happy and times that it is crushing and cold and defeating. Life is not always easy and people are not always kind. There have been times where I had to find my inner joy and happiness to protect me from the elements. This song is about several situations that I have experienced, sometimes at the hands of someone who claimed to love me, and a lot of the song comes from a place of hurt and anger. But I hope it is a reminder that as crushing and cold as life can be, you can always find happiness in what makes you who you are. I hope you can always find a way to anchor yourself to the things and people that make you happy and that you can find a way to dance in the storm.
