Welding Certification and Events
The Texas High School Welding Series is kicking off this year of welding certification events in conjunction with the Texas Rice Festival in Winnie, Texas on October 2nd, 2024. at Lee College. The Texas Rice Festival Event will start off the year with welding certification tests, oxy-fuel cutting contest, tool identification and safety knowledge contest, underwater welding, and Madskills Visual Weld Inspection Challenge. Competitions and Certifications are open to Texas High School Students and the event is open for the public to view.

All registration for this event is through: WeldingSeries.com
Payments can be made the day of the event by cash or check.
Payments can be handled ahead of time through JudgingCard by entering the number of students that you have registered at weldingseries.com
JudgingCard is not our registration system.

Stackin' Challenge
Cutting Contest
Registered Students will earn their way to compete in wither of two cutting challenges. One challenge will be using Oxy-Fuel cutting with propylene and the other will use plasma. Challenges may be timed, or for accuracy and/or both. After each round only the top scores will advance to the next rounds challenge.
IMPORTANT: Each individual needs bring their own their own PPE this includes, clear/dark face shield, safety glasses and gloves that are to be worn at all times while in the cutting area.
More details will be published about this event as the date gets closer... so stay tuned!
*All Students that register for a welding certification level are automatically entered for compete in the Cutting Contest Challenge.
Underwater Welding
The Ocean Corp
Students with the best under water weld passes will have the opportunity to earn a Dive Coin that will qualify them for the Underwater Welding and Diving State Event this summer at The Ocean Corp in Houston.
At the State event students will compete for TOC Scholarships and prizes as well as the opportunity to earn an AWS D3.6 Welding Certification.
