Instill is a Chicago Hardcore band who have created quite the name for themselves in the midwest hardcore scene despite having only one release. The band combines an old-school sound with straight-edge elements. Instill features two members from another Chicago Hardcore band titled Buggin. Buggin's guitarist Peyton maintains his same role whilst Buggin's drummer Michael takes his place at the front of the stage. The photo featured above was taken during a surprise set Instill did before Buggin's set started at the Chi-Town Futbol league which used to host hardcore shows but recently it has been announced that no more shows will be hosted there. I have seen this band countless times in just this past year and their performance is always a favorite of mine. The band always brings great energy and it is quite a joy to watch Michael jump around the stage. Even the first time I saw them live I was blown away by their performance, walking into their set at X-Ray Arcade during the Summer Jam was a moment I will not forget. The message of the band's lyrics is a positive message and question of self. Instill's frontman is one of the nicest guys I have met at these shows and just about every show I see him at he comes over to say hello. The band's hats are some of my favorite hats that I own, so if you ever get the chance make sure to grab one and Instill some positive change into your life.
