Enervate is a Milwaukee Hardcore band that does the opposite of what the band's name entails. Enervate means to lack energy or vitality although Enervate does the polar opposite by utilizing empowering vocals and groovy beatdown instrumentals. The lyrics reflect themes of racial injustice in a cold world. Despite the band's small amount of songs, each one stands out in its own right while still continuing to fit within a consistent sound. The song My Fight was released on the Milwaukee Style compilation album and was later released on the band's 2021 release No Time Left. The Milwaukee Style compilation album artwork is a photo of the inside of the X-Ray Arcade which is also where the photo used for this article was taken as well. The song No Time Left off the same-titled EP features the singer from Chicago hardcore band Kharma. Enervate's EPs get the crowd moving without fail but the band's Spring Demo flows so well together in and out of the pit. I have seen Enervate perform nearly a dozen times at this point and the band's set is always spectacular. Nearly every set I've seen them play ends with blood on the floor, the crowd brings the heat and the blood will mend into Scars of Love for the band.
