Straight out of the California Bay is Big Boy bringing some heavy-hitting tunes bound to rock your ears. One of the bands' mottos or classic lines is Real Bay Shit which I initially heard as Real Bass Shit but it works either way. The bass within their songs is super crunchy and provides a solid baseline for their songs which is what caught my attention right off the bat. The lyrics revolve mostly around themes of self and living outside society's norms as well as the typical hardcore themes of being put in a tough situation and how one might deal with it. The band released a Demo in 2019 which was followed two years later by a Promo in 2021. Both of these releases have only a handful of songs but every single one is a hit even the Interlude within their Demo. Make sure to not confuse Big Boy with Big Boys, a much older hardcore punk band from Texas that blended punk and funk. The logo Big Boy has blended graffiti art along with a little character that can be seen between the words which I feel does a good job of capturing their style. The lead singer of Big Boy, Brandon Flores is also featured in a song by another Bay Area hardcore band called Sunami. Brandon can be heard towards the end of Sunami's song Gate Crasher off their self-titled album. With very fun and memorable lyrics and instrumentals, Big Boy is tough to forget and let leave your ears.
