Mathematical Models in Social Innovation

Blended Intensive Program

The 2022 Blended Intensive Program (BIP) in MMiSI - Mathematical Models in Social Innovation involves a set of short courses addressed to MSc and PhD students.

The program will revolve around applied mathematics viewed as an interdisciplinary area at the interface with engineering, economy, life and social sciences. It will cover several applied topics including models for biology, opinion formation, traffic and pedestrian flows and data science. We will be addressing different methodologies, such as the analysis of partial differential equations, numerical calculus and simulations and kinetic modeling.

The program will be composed by an online preparatory modulus in the period September 1-2, 2022, and by an in presence week hosted by the D.I.S.I.M. (Department of Information Engineering, Computer Sciences and Mathematics) of the University of L'Aquila in the period September 5 - 10, 2022.

All the students who wish to join our summer school must be currently enrolled at a MSc or PhD course in one of the following disciplines:

  • mathematics,

  • applied mathematics,

  • physics,

  • engineering,

  • or similar subjects.

The participation of students and teachers will be supported by the new Erasmus short mobility scholarship and Erasmus Staff or Teaching Mobility scholarship. Below the list of Partner.
