Twitch Quiet processes the Twitch playback data it needs to filter ads. It does not send that data to the developer or run an analytics service.
Privacy policy · Updated October 8, 2026
Twitch Quiet is an independent Chrome extension that tries to filter ads in Twitch live streams and hide display banners. This policy covers the extension and explains the separate handling of support messages and voluntary donations.
The extension runs on twitch.tv, www.twitch.tv and player.twitch.tv. It does not request access to all websites, your browser-history database, passwords stored by Chrome, or payment accounts. It is not affiliated with Twitch.
While you use Twitch, the filter processes the current channel, stream and playlist URLs, playlist contents, ad markers, playback tokens and signatures, and relevant network request and response data. It uses these values to identify advertising segments and request playable Twitch video. The popup checks the active tab’s URL to determine whether it is a Twitch page.
The filter reads Twitch authorization, device, client-integrity, client-version and session values from Twitch’s own GraphQL requests. It uses those values in requests sent directly to Twitch’s HTTPS playback-token endpoint. If a device identifier is absent, the adapter may generate a temporary identifier in memory. The extension does not ask for your Twitch password or send these values to the developer.
The adapter reads playback and buffering state to report filter status and recover stalled playback. It also uses existing player preferences to preserve behavior during a player reload. This is part of filtering and playback recovery, not an activity analytics service.
These playback values are held in the Twitch page and its player workers during use. Twitch Quiet does not maintain an extension history log or save Twitch authentication values in extension storage. Closing or reloading the page ends that page’s filter session; Chrome and Twitch may retain their own data under their respective practices.
Chrome’s local extension storage contains two preferences: whether video filtering is enabled and whether display banners are hidden. Those settings remain until you change them, clear the extension’s data, or remove the extension. Twitch Quiet does not sync them to a developer server.
The player adapter also reads and temporarily caches Twitch’s existing local playback preferences, including volume, mute, quality, low-latency mode and mini-player persistence. When needed, it restores the relevant player preferences in Twitch’s own site storage. Those site preferences are separate from the two extension switches.
Playback-token requests go directly to Twitch at https://gql.twitch.tv/gql. Stream discovery and video requests go to Twitch’s playback infrastructure, including usher.ttvnw.net and the video hosts supplied in Twitch playlists. Network requests necessarily reveal ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, to their destination.
The filter runs alongside Twitch’s own webpage and player code, including Twitch’s existing Blob player worker. It does not route streams through a developer-operated or third-party streaming proxy. Twitch continues to handle data according to its own policies.
Twitch Quiet has no extension telemetry or analytics endpoint. It does not transmit your Twitch playback data, identifiers or credentials to the developer, sell that data, use it for personalized advertising, or transfer it to data brokers. It does not use the data for credit or lending decisions.
This privacy page is hosted on Google Sites. When you visit it, Google may receive ordinary web-request information, such as your IP address, browser information and the requested page, under Google’s privacy practices. No custom analytics or tracking scripts have been added to this page.
Twitch Quiet’s use and transfer of user data adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data handling is limited to the disclosed filtering, playback and support purposes.
For help or privacy questions, email destin4235@gmail.com.
If you choose to email the developer, the developer receives your email address, message and any attachments you provide. Support correspondence is handled through Gmail and used to respond to your request and investigate the issue you report. It is kept as needed for that correspondence; you can ask for deletion through the same address. Please do not send passwords, access tokens or other credentials.
All extension features are free. The optional donation link opens Buy Me a Coffee only when you choose it. Buy Me a Coffee and its payment processors handle the information you enter under their policies and may share a donation receipt or donor details with the recipient. See Buy Me a Coffee’s privacy policy. The extension itself does not read, collect or store your card or payment information. Review the recipient and amount before paying.
Links to Twitch, source repositories, the Chrome Web Store or a donation provider open separate websites. Their own privacy policies apply to activity on those websites. Twitch Quiet does not add Twitch credentials or playback data to those links.
Use the popup to change video filtering and banner hiding independently.
To stop video-filter processing on a page that is already open, switch the video filter off and reload that Twitch page. Already-running page code remains until the page reloads or closes.
Remove Twitch Quiet through Chrome’s extensions page to remove the extension and its local settings. Reload or close existing Twitch pages afterward.
Twitch-origin playback preferences are separate site data and may remain after uninstalling the extension. Manage those through Twitch or Chrome’s controls for Twitch site data.
Email the developer with questions about support correspondence or a request to delete it. There is no developer-held Twitch playback database to retrieve or delete.

This policy will be updated when the extension’s data practices change. Material changes to data handling will also be disclosed in the product as required. The date above identifies this version of the policy.
