I am actively looking for some awesome alert sounds and gifs for follow alerts, host alerts, & donation alerts. Who are some of your favorites and can you suggest some sites for great gifs and great sound alerts?

I've started screwing around with StreamElements for my twitch alerts solutions, and of course I want those sounds to go out to the stream, and be audible to me. The problem is that I generally don't like recording Desktop Audio, and as far as I can tell it's the OBS app (with OBS.live, SE's plugin, running) which spits out my notification sounds. I record individual game audio with a VB-Audio Cable and that's always taken up with game audio.

Sound is a really hard topic. As more advanced, your setup gets harder to understand how audio works in detail. Whether you or your viewers are not able to hear the sound played by the alert, are the most common issues when it comes to audio.

This includes the use of alert sounds, which a streamer can use to signal a certain kind of action taking place. From a new subscriber to a new donation, an alert sound can make the the streaming experience feel all the better.

Better yet, you can completely customize your alert sounds, either uploading your own or using already-made sounds from a large library of alerts. I'll show you how to use Kapwing to download or create the right sounds for your own custom Twitch alerts. Here's what you should know:

You can choose from a huge variety of alert sounds on the website itself, but for those of you who want to use their own, unique alert, then Kapwing can help you create the perfect sound. I recommend uploading an audio file from your computer, pasting a link to a YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, or TikTok video with the sound you want to use, or using the Record tool to use your own voice or instrument as your alert.

In order for you to use alert sounds on your stream, you are going to want to use a third-party software to help while you stream. I recommend using StreamLabs, though you can also use platforms such as Muxy and StreamElements.

Here, look to the left-side of the screen to see a bunch of different pages you can go to. Click on Alert Box to be taken to the window where you can customize your alerts for your stream.

Midway down this page, you will see all the different options you can choose to customize, such as Subscriptions, Donations, and more. Choose whichever one you want this alert sound to be a part of.

That is not even close to what the person wanted. We don't want to turn the notification sound on and off, we want to make it play a different sound for different apps. There is no way to do that in Settings > Sounds. There used to be a way to set different sounds for different apps.

Yeah, this is nuts. I have the same notification sound for LinkedIn, Twitter, (and many others) as I do when my gate opens. My dogs lose it when they hear it so it's become entirely inconvenient. Apple should easily listen to its' customers and allow for custom notification sounds the same way phone numbers can have custom ringtones. What's the problem, Apple?

Currently my Arlo home security cameras and credit/banking apps, aka items requiring urgent response, have the same alert notification as twitter and a host of other less important apps. Some ability to differentiate would be ideal....correction....should be THE STANDARD. Apple, please fix this.

Customize your notifications with different alert styles so you can act quickly on emails, calendar invites, messages, and more. To add or change an alert style for a notification, go to Settings > Notifications and select an app.

However, you can do more to personalize your Twitch and Mixer streams. You can also customize some of the sounds. You can attach stream alert sounds to add to the atmosphere of your stream. Streamsentials has a detailed guide on how to set up stream alerts using a range of tools that streamers use to broadcast.

Own3D.tv offers a vast range of add-ons that you can use to customize your Twitch live-streaming channel. Most of these templates, graphics, sounds, and other add-ons are also usable on your Mixer or YouTube Gaming live-streaming channel, too.

The Pretty Sprites sound effect pack contains sounds inspired by pixel art and the old school gaming era. This download includes pre-composed sounds that you can hear in the demo video, as well as the individual sound effects used to make them. Use these sounds with your Twitch alerts and YouTube videos. Alert Sounds for Twitch, YouTube, and Mixer. Suitable for uploading to services such as Streamlabs, Bebo, and Stream Elements. The pack includes 20 unique sound designs and 35 individual sound effects.

As its name indicates, the Voice UI Sound Effects pack is somewhat different. It contains a mix of male and female voice options, with sounds for Stream Alerts and Stream Deck Audio Triggers. It comes with three voice styles: General, Relay and Spark, and three message styles: informative, personality, and grateful. There are 12 unique messages per style, adding up to more than 500 voice files. Nerd or Die recommends that you match this audio alert pack with their Uplink Stream Package.

As the name Soundsnap indicates, this site specializes in sounds, rather than in gaming add-ons. They aim to help you find the perfect audio clip. Soundsnap has more than 467,875 files in its Sounds Effects library, and they add to the library every week.

Soundsnap offers three payment options, two pay-as-you-go plans, and an annual subscription. If you are merely after sounds you can use as stream alert sounds on Twitch or Mixer, you are unlikely to change your sounds all that often, so you are more likely to prefer one fo the pay-as-you-go options. The three pricing tiers are:

You can browse sounds by Latest, Location, or Tags. Technically you can use any sound of a suitable length as a Twitch alert. However, Soundsnap does have a page of custom Alert sounds. It currently has 842 Alert sounds, so you might need to spend some time going through the demo files to find the sounds that best suit your stream. If you click on More Info, each sound you will discover includes a series of Tags that Soundsnap believes best describes each sound.

You can upload sound files or utilize the Sound Alerts Creator to generate custom sounds from your favorite Twitch and YouTube videos. To maintain copyright compliance, you should select all the sounds you wish to include in the control panel before allowing your viewers to play them during your live stream.

Freesound offers a vast selection of sound files which you could consider as options for your stream alert sounds. Freesound aims to create an enormous collaborative database of audio snippets, samples, recordings, bleeps, released under Creative Commons licenses that allow their reuse.

You easily pull sounds from your past streams. If you had a strong reaction or laughed heartily, take the sound to reuse on future streams by adding it as an alert.

There are several types of sound alerts you can make:

If you are willing to buy a few sounds or subscribe to a service for your sound effects, you can access libraries of high-quality sounds from movies, music, sound clips, and more. Here is a list of three paid sites that streamers use to find sounds:

Epidemic Sound has nearly 30 categories of effects, each with several sounds. These effects include horror, ambience, animals, and general cartoon noises, meaning you have ample opportunities to entertain your viewers.

SoundSnap allows you to purchase packages that give you an allotted amount of downloads that you can use to purchase sounds on their site. You can also get unlimited access for $17 per month (or $199 per year).

If you stream on Twitch, you can set up the Sound Alerts extension to allow your viewers to use specific sound alerts in exchange for bits. You do share 20% of the Bits earned with this extension with the extension creator.

If you periodically want to play a sound alert on your steam, use the MyInstants soundboard. You can search for specific sounds among thousands of options. With your own account, you can collect your favorite streams so that you can easily access them while you stream.

If you click on the title of the sound, you go to a page where you can share the sound, copy it to your clipboard, or download it. This way, if you have a Stream Deck (more on how later on in this article) or another tool you like to use to navigate your graphics and sounds, you can configure it easily.

You can also use Soundboard to find and download sounds for your stream. The website has 500,000 sounds that cover a variety of topics. Download the ones you wish or create your own personal soundboard.

If you own an Elgato Stream Deck, you know how easy it is to program and use during your stream. If you have a few sounds you would like to play throughout your broadcast, you can configure a part of it to be a soundboard.

As with everything else on your stream, you should try to keep the sounds you play associated with your brand. The better your Twitch branding, the more your followers will associate other things with you, which will enrich your community and bring in new viewers.
