If you want a discreet, plug-and-play adapter to wirelessly connect your existing earbuds to an airplane seat or gym machine, choose Twelve South AirFly SE; if you need a full-featured, over-ear headset with active noise cancellation and marathon battery life for immersive listening in a quiet library, choose ILOCKZONE LC30Pro. These two devices solve completely different problems, and picking the wrong one leaves you either with a bulky pair of headphones that won't fit in your pocket or a tiny dongle that offers no sound isolation when you need silence most.
• Twelve South AirFly SE: Its biggest strength is turning any 3.5mm audio jack into a wireless source with a massive 20+ hour battery, but its trade-off is that it requires you to already own compatible Bluetooth headphones and offers zero noise isolation on its own.
• ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: It delivers studio-quality sound with hybrid active noise cancellation and a staggering 100-hour playtime, yet its bulkier over-ear design makes it less portable than a simple transmitter.
• The AirFly SE is for travelers and commuters who refuse to carry tangled wires and want to use their favorite lightweight earbuds anywhere.
• The LC30Pro is for listeners who prioritize deep bass, total silence, and long-duration comfort, specifically those seeking the best neckband-style experience or heavy-duty headphones for library study sessions.
The Twelve South AirFly SE exists to bridge a specific gap in modern audio ecosystems. It is not a headphone; it is a small plastic transmitter designed to plug directly into the 3.5mm aux jacks found on older airplanes, hotel TVs, gym treadmills, and gaming consoles like the Nintendo Switch. If you have been frustrated by the lack of wireless connectivity on these devices, this little white dongle solves the problem instantly. You simply plug it in, power it on, and it pairs with your existing Bluetooth headphones, whether they are AirPods, Sony earbuds, or Samsung Galaxy Buds. The setup is genuinely seamless, with automatic reconnection for future uses once paired.
For the library user, this device is a niche tool rather than a primary listening solution. It is ideal if you already own high-quality, low-latency clip-on earbuds that you want to use with a library computer or an old media player that only has a wired output. However, you must understand that the AirFly SE provides no noise cancellation of its own. It does not block out the hum of a printer or the chatter of a nearby patron. It only transmits the audio signal wirelessly. If your goal is to find the best low latency clip on earbuds for library environments where you need absolute focus, the AirFly SE will only help if your earbuds are already excellent at passive noise isolation. Without that, you are still exposed to ambient noise while trying to listen.
You should skip this product if you do not already own a pair of Bluetooth headphones or if you are looking for a complete audio package. It adds a layer of complexity to your gear without adding sound quality or comfort features. It is also worth noting that while it supports Bluetooth 5.2 and aptX, it may not be compatible with hearing aids that rely on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or require a smartphone app to pair. It works best with standard Bluetooth implementations found in consumer headphones. The 20-hour battery life is robust enough for long-haul flights and multiple gym sessions, and it can even be used while charging via its USB-C port, ensuring you never run out of juice during a critical moment. But ultimately, it is a utility device for people who hate cables, not a premium audio experience on its own.

The ILOCKZONE LC30Pro takes a different approach entirely. This is a dedicated set of over-ear headphones built for immersion. It features custom 40mm large-aperture drivers designed to deliver high-fidelity audio with rich, booming bass and crystal-clear highs. More importantly for a library setting, it incorporates advanced hybrid active noise cancellation. Internal and external microphones work together to detect and cancel up to 95% of ambient noise, effectively silencing the roar of traffic, the clatter of a subway, or the murmur of a busy study hall. If you are searching for the best neckband headphones for library use where you need to shut out the world to concentrate, this is the category-defining choice.
The battery life on this unit is nothing short of extraordinary. With a claimed 100 hours of playtime, you can go weeks without needing to reach for a charger. A quick 10-minute charge via the Type-C port grants five hours of instant power, which is perfect for late-night study sessions that run long. The comfort factor is also significant for extended wear. The earcups feature ultra-soft protein leather and memory foam padding, fitting snugly without creating pressure points. The adjustable headband and foldable design make it easy to store in a bag when you aren't using it, though the over-ear form factor means it occupies more space than a compact earbud case.
This device is particularly well-suited for students or professionals who spend long hours in shared spaces and need to create a personal bubble of silence. The Bluetooth 5.4 chip ensures an unbreakable connection with a range of up to 10 meters, and the multipoint connection allows you to switch effortlessly between two devices, such as watching a lecture on a tablet and taking a call on a phone without missing a beat. The low latency mode is crucial here, ensuring that video content remains perfectly synced with audio. While it is larger and heavier than the AirFly SE, the trade-off is a superior auditory experience and genuine isolation from the environment. It is the right choice for anyone who wants the best kids headset for library use or a premium audio device for themselves that doesn't require them to hunt for a 3.5mm jack to function.
• Best for battery life → ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: At 100 hours compared to 20+, the headphones offer weeks of uninterrupted listening versus days for the adapter.
• Best for passive portability → Twelve South AirFly SE: Weighing just 13.61 grams, it fits in a pocket or keychain, whereas the headphones require a bag or backpack.
• Best for noise isolation → ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: Hybrid active noise cancellation blocks 95% of ambient noise, a feature the AirFly SE cannot provide.
• Best for existing earbud owners → Twelve South AirFly SE: Ideal if you already own good Bluetooth earbuds and just need to connect them to wired sources.
• Best for low latency video → ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: The dedicated low latency switch ensures lag-free gaming and video syncing better than a generic adapter.
• Best for deep bass and studio sound → ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: 40mm dynamic drivers and high-sensitivity diaphragms produce a richer soundstage than standard earbuds.
• Best for travel convenience → Twelve South AirFly SE: Its compact size makes it easier to carry on a plane or train without taking up much room.
• Best value for a complete system → ILOCKZONE LC30Pro: You get the headphones, ANC, and battery in one package, whereas the AirFly SE assumes you already have the audio output device.
In my opinion, for a library environment where focus and silence are paramount, the ILOCKZONE LC30Pro is the clear winner. The ability to actively cancel 95% of ambient noise creates a productive atmosphere that a simple transmitter like the AirFly SE simply cannot match. While the AirFly SE is a clever gadget for connecting to wired jacks, it relies entirely on your existing earbuds for comfort and isolation. If you want the best low latency clip on earbuds for library use, you still need great earbuds, but the LC30Pro gives you that isolation out of the box along with a battery life that lasts for weeks. I would buy the ILOCKZONE LC30Pro because it transforms the listening experience from merely "wireless" to truly immersive, making it the superior tool for serious study or relaxation in noisy public spaces.
It works with most standard Bluetooth headphones that can enter pairing mode, including brands like Sony, Bose, and Beats, but it is not compatible with hearing aids that rely on Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) or require a companion app to pair.
The ILOCKZONE LC30Pro offers up to 100 hours of playtime on a single charge, whereas the Twelve South AirFly SE provides over 20 hours, meaning the headphones last significantly longer between charges.
Yes, the headphones feature a low latency switch and Bluetooth 5.4 technology to ensure a lag-free experience for gaming and video watching, keeping audio perfectly synced with visuals.
Yes, because the AirFly SE is a transmitter, you must already own a pair of Bluetooth headphones or earbuds to receive the audio signal from it.
