ORIGAme: A Tiny Folding Tale
ORIGAme: A Tiny Folding Tale
ORIGAme: A Tiny Folding Tale is my first ever illustrated "short story".
It's a creative look-back to a point in my childhood where I had the opportunity to delve deeper into Origami, the art of paper folding. For Filipino children my age, creating something out of folding paper is already somewhat familiar - planes, boats, puppets, and a few other things. Still, having discovered that I can create much more than a handful was life changing to me as a shy and aloof, yet imaginative child.
While the main purpose of this story is mainly to showcase my illustrating skills and style (I can't say that I'm good writer by any means!), it came up from a reflection* about contentment and provision. As children, we tend to follow through our desire to recreate something we found beautiful, fun, or cool regardless of monetary gain or renown.
I think we can learn something from our younger selves.

I would like to thank my mom family, friends, and M for their suggestions and show of support - they even tried making a frog following the how-to! <3
