Become a Level 1 and/or 2 Google Certified Educator

Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools is offering training for any area teachers interested in gaining fundamental knowledge of how to implement a variety of G Suite for Education tools in their classrooms. The course will conclude with taking the exam to attain the Google Certified Educator Level 1 certification and/or Google Certified Educator Level 2 certification.

The Level 1 camp will begin on July 22nd and conclude on July 26th. Each day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. except for Friday, which will end at 5:00 p.m. to accomodate the length of the certification exam. Each day will include an hour break for lunch. The Level 2 camp will begin on July 29th and conclude on August 2nd. Each day will begin at 9:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m. except for Friday, which will end at 5:00 p.m. to accomodate the length of he certification exam. Each day will include an hour break for lunch. The Google Boot Camp can be taken for either 2.5 CEU credits or two graduate credit hours.

CEU Credit Option

The cost for attending the camp is $60 if you would like CEU credit only. This fee includes the cost of the Google Certified Educator Level 1 or 2 exam. If you are an employee of Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools, then your fee is being covered by the Tuscarawas Valley Local School District.

Graduate Credit Option

For the graduate credit hour option, you will recieve two graduate credit hours through Ashland University for each course. The registration paperwork will be handed out on the first day of the camp. The total cost of the graduate credit option is $420 (the two graduate credit hours cost $360 and checks need to be made payable to Ashland University. The additional $60 fee includes the cost of the Google Certified Educator Level 1 or Level 2 exam. If you are an employee of Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools, then your $60 is being covered by the Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools District and you will only be responsible for the $360 tuition fee.

Payment Methods

The $60 fee for the course can be paid with cash, check, or credit card to Tuscarawas Valley Local Schools. The $360 Ashland University tuition fee can be paid by cash, check, or credit card to Ashland University but there is an additional fee for credit card payments.

Please bring a set of headphones or earbuds.

We will be using the Windows computer lab at Tuscarawas Valley Middle School for the majority of the training but these devices do not have a webcam. The exam for the Google Educator Certification requires a webcam to complete. If you have a device, such as a Chromebook or other type of laptop, you are welcome to bring it along to use for the exam on Friday. If you do not have a device with a webcam, don't worry. Please mark that on the registration form and we will provide you with a Chromebook that you can use for the certification exam.

If you are taking the course for graduate credit, you may want to bring your check book, credit card, or cash. Remember, Ashland University does assess an additional fee for credit card transactions.
