I second this for a completely different reason: I play with my own music on as the in game radio gets repetitive quick. Some sounds like the beats from the Forzathon balloons interfere with the music a lot. Long story short: even without a disability this would be a great feature to have.

So, how can I actually disable this sound? If I could disable all notification sounds that would be a valid solution. I haven't found a setting like this though. But I don't want to disable sound itself; I still want to have sound in my video games :)

The sound in question is a ding-ding, a lower note followed by a higher note when connecting a USB device, and the reverse sound - the higher note followed by a lower note - when disconnecting the USB device.

If there is no way to disable this sound cleanly in settings, I wouldn't mind a more hack-ish solution to simply delete the sound file, if someone could point me to it. If deleting the file could lead to problems or Windows unsolicitedly 'fixes' itself, maybe I could replace the file with an empty file?

sounds by selecting {None} for them in the dropdown. You don't have to disable everything as in selecting no sounds for Sound scheme. Then you can also save the new scheme as a separate entry in case you want to switch back to the original.

If you want all turned off, you can get them using document.getElementsByTagName('audio'). It returns an array (NodeList actually) which contains references to all your on the page. You can loop through this array and do something, like call pause() on each.

Just got the SoundCore 2 and the sound effects may be a deal breaker for me. Same as original questions above, I need power up, power down, connections (BlueTooth/AUX) to be silent. I have quite a few Bluetooth speakers and they can all be set up for personal preference.

This is another tornado siren that was recorded and then moded by SoundBible.com its your typical early warning alert system for tornados sounds like air raid siren. The preview above is just 40 seconds but the zip file is 15 minutes long, and the wav file is 5 minutes (50 MB) .Download the mp3 push play turn up the speakers and walk out of the room and see what happens :)

Sound of a metronome clicking and keeping time. This is a wood block metranome sound and is pretty standard. If you want to change the speed or pitch of this please be sure to visit the sound editing link on the bottom right of the page after downloading. This sound was requested by Sam.

I wanted to turn it off in a custom live build of Debian by default, but I can't figure where this setting is stored. I tried dconf and looked around config directories extensively without success. I tried find ~ -mmin -1 also gio monitor and inotifywatch without success. The only output by find ~ -mmin -1 was .config/dconf/ and .config/dconf/user which get edited all the time the control center is opened anyway. I replaced this user file in a vm to test and all dconf settings were updated except the one I need (the alert sound). I also tried dconf watch / which gave no output when I tried editing the alert sound setting

To completely turn off the sound effects the closest way I've found was to live boot into a clean iso of the distro and open the System settings > Sound > Sound effects and turn these sounds off as preferred, then copy the file ~/.config/pulse/*-stream-volumes.tdb and save it. Then, to turn off the "sound effects" on an installed environment or while building a custom version of the distro do

Changing your Dolby Audio setting will often change which sound effects you hear as well. However, turning it off will also change the sound coming from your TV. You can try this method as well to see if you like it. Remember, you can change any setting back at any time.

There appears to be no setting to disable sound effects for touch controls on the Move so when adjusting the volume of the output, you get a disturbing beep for each tap. The volume of the beep is tied to the volume of the device so the louder the volume, the louder the beep which is distracting given that it plays over the intended audio.

Hello at Sonos, this whish of some users is still unsolved. It would be nice to get an Update for the speaks, because this sound effects are combined with the music i hear. If i dont want to see the led lights, i would be able to put some tape on it, but the product will still play music. If i dont like the color, i can paint the box, without changing the function.

I want to hear music, no effects. Others like or need the effects, so make them optional. Please. (And within two weeks, else the box is returning. Sorry. I want to buy a music box, no sound effects Playstation)

New user adding my voice to the chorus requesting that Sonos add a way to turn off/opt out of the beeping sound effect when using the volume slider. An annoying flaw in what so far seems to be an impressive and pretty nifty system.

I love the sound effects of S1914 but I always disable them because of the uneasy background ambiance and battle noise. The sound of battles often starts randomly and rarely stops, while the wind can feel depressing and annoying after a while (personal opinion).

IMO an additional filter called "Ambient Sound Effects" or "Background Sound Effects" will be a welcome addition. Most important sounds like clicks and units will remain without any unwanted background noise. Ultimately, the choice to disable/enable will fall down to the player, which adds value to the game experience.

Zolokin, many games and places use sounds to attract players (or people), so they stay and play (or go around) for that music, I think bytro won't do that because of the reasons above. I switched off the sounds too as they are too noisy.

That I do understan. Problem I have with S1914 sounds though is that it sounds kinda depressing after listening to the wind heavy music all the time. Feels like playing skyrim with enemy music on all the time. (just my opinion though)

No, I am talking specifically about the background hum sound effect when in the lobby of Meta Workrooms and when using Oculus Link. These are designed sound effects but there is no way to turn them off other than turing the volume on your headset off.

I would like to piggyback on this. Horizon Workroom is very rudimentary, but it works quite well. However, having this as an options would be fantastic because I can't work for long in there because of the annoying ambient sound.

I would like to +1 this. I just got the Meta Quest 2, so I'm new. But when I use the questlink to access my desktop computer this sound is humming constantly. Through videos in my browser, songs I might be playing, and on, and on.

It's really annoying that this can't be disabled in some way.

Yeah it is a real need indeed. I like to listen to my own music while playing game and I like to hear the sound effects in the game but not as aloud as my music goes. So I like to level the volume of the sound effects down a bit while my music stays loas as I like. A volume setting would be great.

I agree with Nittany Lion. I use to play the game completely silent because the sound effects are too loud. But now i am shooting some videos like tutorials, and i need to keep the sound on. The sound effects need a bit adjustment, or better if we have our option to turn it down and not left with only silencing it.

If the Party Booster function is turned on, the speaker outputs a sound effect when you tap the speaker to music. The lighting of the speaker also shines*1, and makes the party atmosphere more exciting.

If you turn off the Party Booster function by operating the - (volume) button and + (volume) button of the speaker, or by tapping the lower left of the cap twice quickly, as in step, the(power) indicator flashes 4 times.

If the power is on, there is a possibility that the Party Booster function will be unintentionally turned on due to vibrations etc., and a sound effect will be output. When the Party Booster function is turned on, turn off the power of the speaker.

I play with the dialog off & i honestly wish i would have turned it off ages ago.

No more world quest repeat dialog, no more boring lore dumps during walks, no more random npcs having actual voicelines while others have none.

What sounds are you looking for? The only sound effect in Quicken Mac that I'm aware of is the whoosh sound when you delete a transaction(s). There is no Quicken control for that sound; it just uses your Mac's volume setting.

I love the sound of the rain in the Rainy Day Spider Solitaire. I wish I could turn off all the other noise and sounds that the game makes and just be able to hear the rain. Can you please make separate volume controls for the rain and for the sound effects. Thank you so much!

You need two components - metal clangs for gear hitting gear and grinding sound for the shaft rotating. Record lots of metal clangs - you need many variations and often finding the sound that matches perfectly takes some time. Experiment with samplerate of existing sounds. Grinding sound should match to material shaft is connected to, but if it's unknown just use some metal grinding sound.

Play metal clangs in a sequence and adjust the gap between each clang according to gear rotation speed. With low speeds decreasing volume is usually a good idea too and you could try lowpass filtering the clangs too. With grinding sound adjusting only volume according to rotation speed is often enough, but sometimes minor samplerate modulation can be used. ff782bc1db
