Turkish Airlines Online Check In

My flight is tomorrow

From Hamburg Germany to Beirut Lebanon with transit through Istanbul. I tried the online check in, was only able to complete only the half of it, it keeps asking me for visa information, i choose that i have a schengen or residence Permit and that didn't work (keeps showing this red warning, below in picture). My passport is from Syria. I don't need a visa to enter Lebanon (all my friends and colleagues are doing this without visa, just using the German residence permit). and for transit flights you don't need a visa.

Should i just ignore this and clear things in the airport?

Flew out here on Monday from Heathrow. We booked direct with Turkish Airlines and online booking wasn't available as they have to check all the various test certificates etc then issue a boarding pass.

By the way, unless there is some massive price difference, in these uncertain times I would look to book directly with (ta && ta.queueForLoad ? ta.queueForLoad : function(f, g){document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', f);})(function(){ta.trackEventOnPage('postLinkInline', 'impression', 'postLinks-111304138', '');}, 'log_autolink_impression');airlines and hotels rather than through online travel agents. There are some exceptions such as the very largest ones like Expedia, Amex Travel etc but on the whole, the less intermediaries the better if things go wrong.

That should say boarding passes not tickets. You have to click on your booking reference that takes you to online check in...we did it as soon as it was within the 24 hours of departure. They then checked our pcr fit to fly when we dropped our bags ...

On Turkish Airlines international and domestic flights, the Business Class seat selection is free of charge until the check-in duration is finished. If a passenger who has purchased a seat selection upgrades to Business Class, the seat selection fee is refunded. Payment is made automatically for seat selection refunds if the payment made is via online POS from the website, mobile application, the call center and sales offices. If seat selection refund is not made automatically, the call center and sales offices can be contacted for information and performing the transaction.

As a result, when you check in online, the airline will try to force you to choose a crappy seat on the plane, hoping to fill up those seats with people who actually choose them. This is good for the airline as it leaves better seats available in case they need to move people around or resolve a situation by offering a passenger a good seat.

But, if you keep refreshing the seat chart, during that time, other people will start checking in online and choosing their seats. The chances are extremely high that other passengers will choose those crappy seats, thinking that they are the only seats available.

Then, once those crappy seats have been selected by other passengers checking in online, new seats will become available, because again, all of the seats have yet to be assigned. Once those few new seats are selected by other passengers, other seats will become available and so on, until a couple of hours before the flight when everyone has checked in.

The best way for that is probably to check in at the airport 3 hours early and then ask the check in staff for the seat you want. Some airlines allow you to change your seat after you check in, so maybe you could check in online, get the seat they give you and then log back in to your reservation and change it?

We - a group of 6 people - booked and paid for a flight from Budapest to Ankara with a stop in Istanbul, supposedly starting at this Monday (July 15th) 9:05. The booking was done in two parts, 3 people each, the problem is there with both reservation. When we attempted to do the online check in about an hour ago (July 13rd ~20:00), we were astonished to see the message on the check-in page that we have to re-schedule our flights (as we got no prior notification about this).

In general if you're getting an error like this the only option will be to contact Turkish airlines directly, or if your tickets were purchased via a travel agent (including an online travel agency) then contact the travel agency to see if they can help.

You can check-in online or manage your bookings on Turkish Airlines website via the "Online Check-in and Manage Bookings" page. Browse all the alternative routes and flight dates for Turkish Airlines on Wego now.

Our first flight was from Athens to Kayseri (Cappadocia) via Istanbul. This flight (2 legs) was quoted in Euros on the website and the booking proceeded with no issues encountered, paying by credit card. We had to enter a security code required by our bank to complete the process but this was no different to other large online purchases we have made. What we got at the end of the process was an 'E-ticket' listing the flights we were booked on and the names of the 5 passengers I had booked. At the top of this page was a reservation number. I expected to get an email with the individual E-tickets attached (had to give our email address) but none appeared - checked again the next day and still none there. We were a little concerned that this may not be all we needed when we fronted up for our flights so had a look on the website to see if we could access them there somewhere - and we could but it may be useful to know how to do this:

Epags, I don't have the tickets to hand but recall going to select seats and not being able to and seeing a statement to say too early - I have just looked at the FAQ on their website, says seat selection available for up to 100 days prior for business and economy classes on international (ta && ta.queueForLoad ? ta.queueForLoad : function(f, g){document.addEventListener('DOMContentLoaded', f);})(function(){ta.trackEventOnPage('postLinkInline', 'impression', 'postLinks-65038422', '');}, 'log_autolink_impression');flights but business only for domestic flights. If you have your reservation number you should be able to go into the TA website and select seats within the allowable timeframe I would think. Also online check in available up to 24 hours pre flight for many routes - have a look at their FAQ pages for info on this (FAQ link is in very small writing at the bottom of their home page under Travel Information, just click on the appropriate links to find the information you want).

Got a great price from Istanbul to Izmir too - compared very well to discount airlines due to a special on at the time and better flight time choices plus from Attaturk airport (check the baggage allowance though, only 15 kg for the cheap flights but no different to the discount airlines and can pay something like 4 TRY / kg for excess over this).

Check-in formalities such as displaying visas and passports and other security procedures will be completed at the online check-in counters. If online check-in counters are not available at the airport, business class counters can be used. Make sure to leave ample time to go through all security procedures.

Some airlines permit passengers to check in their baggage on the evening prior to their departure from Munich. You will need your passport or official ID card and your ticket. Please note that most airlines accept night-before check-in only for departures before noon on the following day

After you have booked your flight, you can visit your airline's website to check in online according to the indicated dates and times.

You may need to provide your booking details, identity card or passport details.

To log in to the airline's website, you will need your booking details and your email address.

Alternatively, if you travel with the following airlines you can use the Self Check-in machines inside the Airport (on the ground floor near Easyjet check-in, and on the first floor near the security gates and Emporio del Grano).
