First you have to install it using administrator privileges.
You can now manually disconnect your device from the Internet so that you can safely disable/stop your antivirus and firewall software programs.
Close any other open programmes or open apps.
If installing from a turbotax.ca/download installation file, you will need to double-click the file to begin the installation process.
If installing from a CD, insert the CD into the CD drive and the installation should launch. If it doesn't start installing automatically, here's how to launch it:
Press and hold the Windows + R keys to open the Run window.
Click the Browse option, and go to the TurboTax CD on your CD/DVD/RW drive.
Double click on the setup.exe file.
Click on the OK button to launch the installer.
Make sure you re-enable your antivirus and firewall programmes before connecting your device back to the Internet.
Reboot or restart your device.
Open the TurboTax software and run the Updater software.
