Researcher - INAF Osservatorio di Brera
Researcher at INAF - Brera Observatory
part of the Group of Astrophysical Transient And Compact Accretors (GATTACA@OAB)
Focused on supermassive black holes, better if they are accreting matter, even better if they have relativistic jets:
do they all accrete in the same way? How can we understand that?
Trying to understand how the first supermassive black holes in our Universe evolve so fast, and why do jets seem to be involved?
studying and analysing multiwavelength data and comparing them with models.

In love with outreach, public speaking and scientific communication.
Passionate about (gender) equality, I am fighting to empower all girls and women I come across: have I ever told you about women in science?
Author of "Apri Gli Occhi Al Cielo", an illustrated book on the Universe.
I try to tell everyone about my research, astrophysics in general, and the amazing history of how black holes where theorised, discovered and found.
I am co-coordinator of DEA@OAB, a group that aims at promoting Diversity Equity & Accessibility at INAF-OAB.
2026 - a series of seminar and talks on gender, disability, identity, esthetic pressure, neuro-divergence:
"Sfumature di rosso per la convivenza delle differenze"
2025 - a series of seminars and talks on gender-based violence:
"Quando la violenza di genere non esiste"
We founded the group in preparation of an event in occasion of the 2024 International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, by inaugurating two red benches and a red chair to remember that gender-based violence is everywhere around us, even in our workplaces.
