Dr. Túlio Albuquerque Pascoal

Welcome!

I am a Cybersecurity & Privacy specialist with strong R&D background and several years of experience in the private, public, and corporate sectors.

I received my Ph.D. in Computer Science specialized in Security & Privacy from the Université du Luxembourg in 2022. The focus of my doctoral research was on the creation of secure and privacy-preserving federated workflows for collaborative Genome-Wide Association Studies to (i) secure sharing of genome data and (ii) safe releases of studies' statistics while ensuring the privacy of participants safeguarded against recovery and membership attacks assuming the presence of collusion among federation members. I am very proud of the fact that during my Ph.D. I managed to publish three scientific papers at A/A* CORE at renowned conferences/journals.

I received my Master's and Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the Federal University of Paraíba, Brazil.
From September 2013 to December 2014, I was an undergraduate student at the University of Toronto as part of an international scholarship sponsored by the Brazilian government.
During that time (from May 2014 to August 2014), I also worked as a Software Engineer Intern at Big Data University (current Cognitive Class).

My topics of interest are: Network and System Security, Software-Defined Networking, Pen-testing, Secure and Privacy-preserving data sharing/processing protocols, Privacy-enhancing Technologies (PETs), Genomic Data Privacy, and Artificial Intelligence.
