1.1 Welcome to Tula loan (hereinafter referred to as "we", "us", or "our"). Protecting your personal privacy and data security is our core principle. When you download, install, or use our mobile application, we will process your relevant information in accordance with the law.
1.2 This Policy is formulated strictly in accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act (DPPA) 2019 of the Republic of Uganda and the latest standards of the Google Play Financial Services Developer Policy. We commit to ensuring legality, fairness, and transparency throughout the entire process of data handling, fully safeguarding your legitimate rights and interests.
We collect your personal data primarily through the following two methods:
2.1 Direct Submission: When you use our services, such as applying for a loan, filling out online forms, or communicating with us, we collect the information you directly provide.
2.2 Automatic Collection: When you use our application, website, and related services, we also automatically collect usage data. This includes data transmitted by your device, containing the device type and your interactions with our platform.
In order to accurately assess your credit risk, determine a reasonable loan limit, and effectively prevent fraudulent activities, we need to collect your relevant information under different scenarios. The information you directly submit includes:
Your name, gender, date of birth, and National Identification Number (National ID).
Your mobile phone number and current residential address.
Education Level: Your level of education. Employment Status: Your current occupation and employment type. Income Range: Your income status.
Important Safeguard and Commitment: We fully understand the importance of communication privacy. This application will never access, read, or upload the complete contact list or call logs from your phone. You are only required to manually enter the name and phone number of the emergency contact you voluntarily provide during the application process. This data is exclusively used during the identity verification and risk control stages.
To ensure account security and combat malicious multi-account registrations by illegal entities, this application will request access to the following device permissions, subject to your explicit authorization:
Scope of Collection: Hardware baseline parameters including device operating system version, Android version, IMEI, IMSI, MAC address, device serial number, Android ID, and screen size. Purpose of Use: Used to complete secure identity verification, optimize application performance, assist in technical troubleshooting, and satisfy financial security risk control requirements to prevent malicious multi-account registrations.
Filtering Logic: We utilize intelligent identification technology to extract only SMS messages related to financial transactions (such as bank transfers, mobile wallet statements, and repayment reminders). We will not collect or access any personal social privacy, verification codes (OTPs), or non-financial information.
Purpose of Use: Used for credit risk modeling and anti-fraud identification, assessing and rectifying repayment capacity, and providing precise prompts.
Data Security Mechanism: All filtered financial data will be transmitted via HTTPS encryption to our secure server at https://api.tulaloan.com. You may revoke this permission at any time; however, doing so may result in credit assessment failure or the cancellation of your loan limit.
4.3.1 Scope of Collection: We only collect your approximate location information (coarse location) while the application is in use. Collection stops completely when the application is closed.
4.3.2 Purpose of Use: Used to verify that you are within the Kenya service area, confirm the consistency of application details, and identify anomalous logins to prevent fraudulent activities.
4.3.3 Data Security: We do not collect precise GPS tracks, nor do we perform background tracking. Data is transmitted via HTTPS encryption to our secure server. You can disable this permission at any time in your device settings.
We process your personal information based on the necessity of providing credit services to you and fulfilling our legal obligations, specifically including:
5.1 Identity Verification and Compliance: Used to identify your identity, complete user registration, and manage, maintain, or verify your account and credit standing.
5.2 Credit Decisions: Constructing credit models and performing credit scoring to evaluate your loan eligibility and credit limit.
5.3 Service Management: Processing loan disbursements, tracking repayment progress, and providing customer support.
5.4 Security Defense: Used to monitor abnormal activities, prevent hacking attacks, and deter illegal financial behaviors.
5.5 Marketing Communications: Used to send you special offers, promotional activities, or service update notifications.
Security Standards: We employ industry-standard HTTPS/SSL protocols to encrypt all collected data and securely transmit it to our dedicated server at https://api.tulaloan.com.
Encrypted Storage: Your data is processed with advanced encryption technologies during storage to prevent unauthorized access, leakage, or tampering. Without your explicit permission, we will never share your personal information with any third party.
Retention Period: Identity information, loan agreements, and credit assessment data will be retained until the expiration of the statute of limitations for relevant legal proceedings to address potential legal claims.
Legal Compliance: In accordance with Ugandan laws (such as tax and anti-money laundering requirements), even if you cease using TULA LOAN, we are still required to retain necessary transaction records within the statutory period.
6.1 Acceptance of Terms: We may amend this Policy from time to time based on business developments or changes in laws and regulations. Your continued use of the application or its related services after the publication of the amended Privacy Policy indicates that you have read, understood, and fully accepted the revised terms.
6.2 Amendments and Notifications: If material amendments are made to this Policy, we will notify you by publishing an announcement within the application, updating the version date, or via the contact information associated with your account. It is your responsibility to review this page regularly to obtain the latest information regarding our data processing practices.
6.3 Limitation of Liability: We shall not bear legal liability for the loss of credentials caused by your personal negligence (such as password leakage), internet disruptions caused by force majeure, or any third-party illegal actions that fall beyond our reasonable control.
In accordance with legal regulations, you enjoy the following statutory rights regarding your personal data:
7.1 Right to Access and Rectification: You have the right to view and request the update of any inaccurate or incomplete personal data.
7.2 Right to Withdrawal and Deletion: You may withdraw your permission for data access at any time. Please note, however, that withdrawing core authorizations may result in the termination of services. Upon full settlement of all loan debts, you may contact us to apply for account cancellation.
8.1 Marketing Communications: We may send marketing information to you via the application, mail, phone calls, SMS, email, online chat, or push notifications to inform you of specific offers, promotional activities, or benefits provided by us, our partners, sponsors, or advertisers. 8.2 Unsubscribe: You can choose to stop receiving such marketing information at any time simply by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link within the message, or by contacting us through the contact methods provided below this agreement.
8.3 Important Notice: Even if you choose to unsubscribe from marketing communications, you will continue to receive non-promotional information related to your account, loan transactions, and other critical matters (such as loan disbursement notices or repayment receipts).
9.1 As a registered user of this platform, you maintain complete control and autonomy over your personal info and application usage data. By default, we only collect corresponding data after you have granted explicit authorization.
9.2 You retain the right to terminate services at any time; you can directly contact our email customer service to request the cancellation and deletion of your account.
10.1 Product Specifications
Loan Principal Range: UGX 20,000 to UGX 600,000
Repayment Term: 91 days to 365 days
Annual Percentage Rate (APR): 12% - 30% per annum
Service Fee: 0%
Note: Final loan conditions (approved principal and specific interest rates) are strictly determined by the user's personal credit risk assessment.
10.2 Loan Calculation Example For demonstrative purposes, if a user obtains a loan under the following parameters:
Loan Amount (Principal): UGX 600,000
Loan Tenure: 91 Days
Interest Rate: 25%
The financial obligations shall be calculated as follows:
Total Interest Accrued: UGX 600,000 × 25% = UGX 150,000
Total Repayable Amount: UGX 600,000 (Principal) + UGX 150,000 (Interest) = UGX 750,000
Disclaimer: The aforementioned calculation model serves as a reference guide only. Final binding terms may vary depending on the customer's specific credit profile and circumstances.
11.1 Our services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.
11.2 If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 18, we will take immediate steps to delete such information as quickly as possible.
