What is Tucson STEM Community? Here's the answer from the group's founder, Brian Ellerman (Founder of University of Arizona's Arizona Forge, and founder of Southwest Digital Health LLC):

For over a decade, Tucson STEM Community has gathered together people interested or working in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math. My hope in meeting is to catalyze conversation, make connections, and move forward various initiatives in the Southern Arizona community and beyond related to STEM education and promotion. Worst case, it’s an excuse to meet and have a nice beer after work."

Brian Ellerman founded the group more than ten years ago as a way to spark conversations between the people promoting STEM learning in Southern Arizona. It is too common for STEM advocates and outreach teams to be disconnected from the other folks and organizations working on similar problems. Tucson STEM Community provides a way for people to get together regularly (four times a year) over pizza and beer, sharing news about projects we are working on, and discussing ideas. One of the most valuable outcomes of these meetings has been people discovering ways to collaborate with other groups in Tucson/Southern Arizona, leveraging efforts to both raise awareness about the importance of STEM to Southern Arizona and support education and outreach.

Also, Tucson STEM Community has a Facebook group--if you'd like to be added as a member, please let me know.

If you have any questions, please ask! And as always, please feel free to share this with anyone who is active and passionate about STEM in Southern Arizona.
