If you want a secure, breathable headset for high-intensity movement where hearing your surroundings is non-negotiable, choose Ttbesmi Purple Out; if you need immersive HiFi bass, longer battery life for travel or work, and a foldable design for portability, choose LICAEVEY Headphones. This isn't about which one sounds "better" in a vacuum—it is about which engineering philosophy fits the specific demands of your active lifestyle.
• Ttbesmi Purple Out: Its biggest strength is the open-ear bone conduction design that keeps your ears completely free for situational awareness during outdoor runs; its trade-off is a shorter 4-hour battery life and lower power output compared to closed-back models.
• LICAEVEY Headphones: Its biggest strength is the over-ear ergonomic design delivering deep HiFi stereo sound with 6 hours of talk time and a foldable structure for easy storage; its trade-off is the enclosed fit that blocks out ambient noise, making it less ideal for solo running on busy streets.
• Who each pick is for: The Ttbesmi is for runners who prioritize safety and airflow above all else, while the LICAEVEY is for commuters, travelers, or home users who want to block out the world and get lost in their music.
The Ttbesmi Purple Out is engineered specifically for people who refuse to be isolated from their environment. As an open-ear headphone using air-bone conduction technology, it sits outside the ear canal entirely. This design choice fundamentally changes how you experience audio while moving. When you are jogging down a sidewalk or cycling through a neighborhood, the ability to hear traffic, pedestrians, and nature without removing your device is not just a convenience; it is a critical safety feature. The product description explicitly highlights that this open-ear design allows you to feel your surroundings at all times, ensuring you remain aware of potential hazards.

For the runner looking for the best open ear headphones for running, the physical build here is compelling. The unit weighs only 18.14 grams (0.3oz), a specification that translates to a sensation of near-weightlessness. You can wear these for extended periods without the fatigue often associated with clamping over-ear cups. The materials are skin-friendly ABS plastic, designed to be non-allergic and comfortable even when sweat begins to accumulate. With an IPX5 waterproof rating, the nano-coating protects the internal components from sweat and rainstorms, meaning a heavy summer run won't damage the hardware. You simply wipe them down, and they are ready for the next session.
However, this design comes with inherent acoustic compromises. Because the drivers do not seal against your ear, the sound relies on directional transmission technology to deliver a panoramic stereo effect. While the brand claims this offers lossless audio transmission, the physics of open-ear design means you will never get the deep, thumping bass or total isolation found in traditional headphones. If your primary goal is to drown out the city noise and focus entirely on the rhythm of your playlist, this might leave you feeling like something is missing. Furthermore, the battery life caps at 4 hours of playtime at 50% volume. For a short morning jog, this is perfectly adequate, but it may require more frequent charging than you prefer if you plan on long endurance sessions. The Bluetooth 5.3 chip ensures a stable connection up to 10 meters, which is standard and reliable for keeping your phone in your pocket while you move freely.
The LICAEVEY Headphones take a completely different approach, prioritizing immersion and versatility over situational awareness. These are classic over-ear headphones designed to fit snugly around the ears, utilizing noise reduction technologies to create a personal sound bubble. If you are searching for the best noise cancelling headphones for running, you must be careful with this category; while they offer stability, the over-ear cup design inherently blocks external sound, which can be dangerous if you are running alone in areas with vehicle traffic. They excel in environments where you control the background noise, such as a gym, a quiet park path, or a commute.
The standout feature here is the audio fidelity. With an output power of 35mW and a focus on HiFi stereo sound with deep bass, these headphones deliver a rich listening experience that open-ear designs cannot match. The ergonomic design is built for comfort during extended use, claiming to prevent pain even after long periods of wear. This makes them excellent for long flights, train rides, or sitting at a computer for work. The connectivity options are also broader; beyond standard Bluetooth, the inclusion of a memory card slot allows for direct playback from TF cards, adding a layer of utility for those who carry local music libraries without needing a phone nearby.
Battery performance is another area where LICAEVEY pulls ahead. With a talk time of 6 hours and a standby time of 15 hours, you get significantly more usage per charge than the Ttbesmi. The charging process takes two hours, which is slightly longer than the Ttbesmi's one hour, but the payoff is nearly double the active listening time. The foldable design adds to their portability, allowing them to collapse into a compact shape that fits easily into a bag or backpack. They are constructed from durable ABS and electronic components, making them a robust companion for travel.
• Best for situational awareness → Ttbesmi Purple Out. The open-ear design lets you hear traffic and voices, essential for outdoor safety.
• Best for deep bass and immersion → LICAEVEY Headphones. The over-ear cups and HiFi tuning provide a fuller, richer audio experience.
• Best for battery longevity → LICAEVEY Headphones. Six hours of talk time beats the four-hour limit of the Ttbesmi.
• Best for intense sweating/rain → Ttbesmi Purple Out. The IPX5 waterproof rating is a clear advantage for wet conditions.
• Best for travel and packing → LICAEVEY Headphones. The foldable design makes them significantly easier to stow in luggage.
• Best for lightweight comfort → Ttbesmi Purple Out. At 18g, they are virtually unnoticeable compared to the bulkier over-ear cups.
• Best for multi-device versatility → LICAEVEY Headphones. The TF card slot and dual-purpose connectivity offer more options than the single wireless stream.
• Best for crystal-clear calls → Both, but Ttbesmi uses ENC algorithms specifically for noisy outdoor environments, while LICAEVEY focuses on general noise reduction.
In my opinion, if I were buying a pair of headphones specifically for running, I would choose the Ttbesmi Purple Out. The priority for any athlete moving outdoors must be safety, and the open-ear design of the Ttbesmi ensures I am never cut off from the sounds of the road. The ultra-lightweight construction means I forget I am wearing them, and the IPX5 rating gives me confidence to push through sweat or light rain without worry. While the battery life is shorter, the trade-off for situational awareness is worth it every time. For anyone seeking the best bluetooth headset for running where safety and breathability matter most, this is the clear winner. If you need deep bass for a movie or a flight, the LICAEVEY is superior, but for the road, the Ttbesmi wins.
