Protecting our Fruit

God Meets Our Every Need

6/19/20

It has been a while getting this update out. Partly due to some illnesses but by God's grace I and the partners who support this medium to communicate are feeling much better.

The picture shows my friend Tina who is from Oita Seventh-day Adventist Church on Kyushu Island. God spoke to his heart and he volunteered to help me put bags around our peaches and pears.

God's timing is always perfect. Before I became sick, he had already made plans to come to Tsushima to help me with this work. By the time he got here I needed help as I was too sick to do it on my own. I am always thankful that God knows our needs even before we are aware.

Isa 65:24

I will answer them before they even call to me. While they are still talking about their needs, I will go ahead and answer their prayers! NLT

Protecting the fruit in this way is very important work, but it is also very hard work.

We must put paper bags around each fruit to protect them from bugs and and bacteria which will destroy the fruit. To do this we have to move a ladder to each tree and carefully bag each fruit and repeat until all are done.

We were able to cover a total of 7,000 peaches and pears. God has continue to show that this is his ministry.

Even as we placed these bags around the fruit to protect them we are inviting our community to place the blood of Jesus around them for protection. Even if you are reading this, I invite you to let the blood of Jesus cover your life to protect you from the disease of sin which wants to take our life.

Paul says that we need to "Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil" Eph 6:11 NLT. Just like the tree in our orchard we are to bear fruit but if we are not covered by Christ's blood then our fruit will be ruined.

When we are protected by Christ, even though the enemy might attack us we will still bear fruit that is beautiful and healthy for all to enjoy. This is the fruit of the Spirit which the work truly needs.

Mark 4:20

And the seed that fell on good soil represents those who hear and accept God’s word and produce a harvest of thirty, sixty, or even a hundred times as much as had been planted!” NLT
