Producing Fruit for Mission

Some people might wonder why do we use use fruit as a part of our mission here on Tsushima.

The answer is very simple. not many people in Tsushima island can afford to buy much fresh fruit because most is imported.

Earlier in this season there was a bad storm and it destroyed many fruit farms and it cause the price of fruit to go up. So much so that In Fukuoka, one peach cost as much as $4.

We decided to sell our peaches at a reasonable price so the residents here can afford to buy fruit to improve their health and nutrition.

We want to provide opportunities for people here to have affordable and safe fresh fruit.

Another dream would be to run a NEWSTART program to help create healthy lifestyle here for the Tsushima residents.

N - Nutrition

E - Exercise

W - Water

S - Sunlight

T - Temperance

A - Air

R - Rest

T - Trust in God

To help protect the fruit we need to spray the trees but it is very difficult to do it from the ground.

Our hope is that someone might be able to share a method where we can use a drone to help with the spraying.

Currently, it is done by hand and although I put on a raincoat and other protective gear I still get much of the pesticide on my body.

Please pray that we will find a safer way to protect the trees and the support we need to start a NEWSTART program over here.
