My research is driven by the following questions:
(1) What quantum phenomena emerge from interactions among many degrees of freedom?
(2) Can we characterize and discover new emergent quantum phenomena using tools from quantum information theory?
To address these questions, I combine ideas and techniques from quantum matter (e.g., symmetries, tensor networks) and quantum information theory (e.g., circuits, channels, measurements, feedback). Specific topics include many-body entanglement, topological phases, quantum dynamics, open quantum systems, and state-preparation protocols in near-term quantum devices.
