Well hello, everyone! It's been a while since I've really touched this site. As always, tsquaredcrochet is a beautiful work in progress and forever shall be growing. There's always something new about crochet to enjoy. : )
Some updates for you are that I've migrated much of my work to this new platform, Google Sites, from my previous platform, Wix. Turns out, I'm a simpler person than I thought. I don't need the extra features or fancy presentation from Wix, but I love the simplicity and straightforwardness of Google Sites. So here we are.
However, nothing else about my plans for this space have changed. It's only much clearer what's in store for the future now that there are buttons and links that make it so apparent. Here's a brief description of everything you may have come across so far:
BLOG -- This is easily my favorite feature of the entire site. I'll be talking about anything and everything I find relevant to crochet in my life, and you are more than welcome to be a part of it. My hope is that even though I am working to advance my skills as a crocheter, the content here remains accessible to beginners and experts alike. There are just so many fun and yarny things to talk about!
It looks like a bit of button-frenzy now, but you get the idea of the topics I want to cover:
"Learn to Crochet" and "Crocheting Tips" are at the top, because it's always a great time to pick up a hook and learn to crochet!
"What's the Stitch? " is a monthly highlight of a specific crochet stitch. There are hundreds of crochet stitches to learn, and they NEED a space to shine! You will learn ways to use them in your projects, other related topics about them, and how to do them. I may link to instructions on external sites, or if I am able, create a tutorial myself.
"Feature Posts" is the ocassional highlight of individuals in the yarny world. In my crochet journey so far, I'm just amazed at how many fiber artists out there take their passions to the next level. They spread yarny ideas I never could have imagined myself, and as a result, they also spread joy. Each and every crocheter (or knitter or any artist!) deserves a shoutout and a platform so the rest of world can admire them.
"Pattern Roundups" -- Who doesn't love a good pattern roundup? Sometimes, I'll curate themed lists of my favorite patterns out there. Sometimes free, sometimes not, but always AWESOME.
"Fiber Fun" will be reviews about different types of yarns and yarn brands I use among my projects. I'm still not sure how I'll go about doing this one, but that's the fun part!
"Project Inspo" -- Have you ever wanted to crochet something, but just didn't know what to crochet? Or maybe you have a stash that needs busting? Or maybe you just want to stay on top of what's good out there? "Project Inspo" is a collection for when you just need that little spark to get your yarny magic going. Here you'll find what may appear to be random ideas at first, but as you learn more about them, you'll think, "Wow! I should actually give that a try!" : )
"Trend or Fad?" -- What do you call niche ideas for a niche hobby? A LOT to talk about, haha. Who knew there would be so many interesting things that come up in the crochet world? Hey, the yarny world is actually pretty big, and there are definitely some seasonal trends or fads worth talking about. Check this topic out for your next yarny conversation-starter!
"National Holiday Crochet" is similar to "Pattern Roundups" except that it's exclusively holiday-themed. Holidays are meant to spread joy and celebration about certain things, and also to raise awareness. Fiber artists (or artists in general) know this well. Come by this topic to learn things you never knew you didn't know! You'll also learn neat tidbits about yarny history or trivia. I love this stuff.
SHOP -- Currently, my shop is local only. I just don't want to deal with the mess of shipping... which is good, because I'm sure all of the delivery people of the world have their hands full right now. You can still see the listings of all of my ready-made items that will soon be on sale.
But you CAN still purchase my patterns. As of right now, there is one free pattern. But there will definitely be more patterns to come! Digital patterns will be listed here, but will be purchased via Ravelry (and Etsy, maybe).
There is also a Commission Form for my local peeps who would like to request commissions. Commissions are closed right now.
CONTACT -- How can you reach me for questions, comments, or concerns? Did you find a typo that just bugs the heck out of you, and you can't sleep at night until you know that I am aware of it? Questions about a pattern I posted? Let me know! Fill out the form with all of the necessary info. The message will get sent to my inbox that I check, admittedly, irregularly. If you really have a pressing concern, do message me via DM on my Instagram profile. My IG handle is always provided at the footer of this website.
My Pattern Tester Application, obviously, is for lovely future pattern testers like you! We have to help each other out to keep the yarny world happy and healthy : ) You really don't have to be a supreme yarny expert to apply. In fact, a variety of crocheters are needed to help each other out! Check out the form if you're interested and how it works.
