Two Schools One Book

2018

Two Schools One book is an initiative at Sherman School based on One Book One Town, a program that started in 2006 at a library in Washington. Fairfield has participated in it for a number of years and schools, like Sherman, have picked up on the opportunity to provide families with a copy of a book and guided discussion questions to foster a shared reading experience for the school community. The added bonus- with two schools one book, we partner with nearby a school in need and donate the books returned so that they can also engage in a community shared reading experience.

Together, the Sherman School community will be reading Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan's book Save Me a Seat this year. The kick off will take place on January 29th. Children will be bringing home a family copy of the book that day. Families can follow the reading calendar and discuss nightly reading as a family. Explore this website for additional books by Sarah Week's that you family can enjoy as well as other resources to support this experience!

Happy Reading!
