KOH TSIN YEN

Hello! I am a political theorist in the Department of Political Science at the National University of Singapore (NUS). I write on eighteenth and nineteenth-century political thought, and teach courses in the history of political thought and contemporary political theory. I am currently working on a book manuscript on the role of pleasure and judgement in Jeremy Bentham's political thought.

Prior to joining NUS, I was a post-doctoral fellow and later an assistant professor of political science at Yale-NUS College. I hold a PhD in Political Science from Harvard University, an MPhil in Political Thought and Intellectual History from Cambridge University, and a BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. In between that I worked for several years in the Ministry of Finance and the Civil Service College in Singapore.
