臺灣認知神經科學學會年會暨學術研討會
Taiwan Society of Cognitive Neuroscience Annual Meeting
The 2026 Annual Meeting of Taiwan Society of Cognitive Neuroscience (TSCN) will be held on January 24, 2026 at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (Yang Ming Campus).
All submissions will be evaluated by the Program Committee.
Submission will be open from now on. Submission deadline: October 31, 2025.
Notification of acceptance will be sent to the first and corresponding authors by December 12, 2025.
We now invite submission of research abstracts of oral presentations and posters from all research areas in cognitive neuroscience.
Submission Guidelines
Who can submit?
Members
1. Abstracts are submitted through the TSCN Membership and Meeting Services System (http://register.tw-scn.org/).
2. To submit an abstract, the first author has to be a member of the TSCN in good standing (see the Registration and Membership Fees section for details). Each individual may submit only one abstract as the first author but can be co-authors in multiple abstracts.
3. Once an abstract is accepted, the presenter of a poster should be the first or the corresponding author of the research. Every presenter is required to complete the registration of the Meeting (http://register.tw-scn.org/) to secure the right to present, or the abstract will be withdrawn. If due to unforeseen circumstances neither the first nor the corresponding author can present the research in person, they should contact the organizing committee of the annual meeting immediately, and the abstract will be regarded as withdrawn.
4. If the first author of the abstract is a current master’s or doctoral student, or a student who graduated in the 2024–2025 academic year, they are also eligible to apply for the Outstanding Student Paper Competition.
If you are an undergraduate or graduate student and not an active Member, or if you are a high-school student conducting research under the supervision of an active Member, you can still submit an abstract. If you wish to do so, your abstract must be sponsored by an active Member (who has paid the 2025 membership fee). When you submit, you must specify the name and e-mail of your Member sponsor.
Abstract Format
1. Abstracts can be written in English (limited to 300 words) or in Chinese (limited to 1000 characters). This does not include the title, author names, affiliations, or funding acknowledgements.
2. The contents of the abstract should include introduction, methods, results, and conclusions. It is not required that these components are explicitly labeled as such. It is, however, important that each abstract contains sufficiently detailed descriptions of the methods and the results.
Topic Categories
The authors of abstracts can specify up to 3 different topic categories from the following list that best captures the theme of their study:
Sensation and Perception, Attention and Consciousness, Learning and Memory, Language,
Numerical Cognition, Decision-making, Development and Aging, Emotion, Social Cognition,
Cognitive Control, Training and Exercise, Animal Cognition, Action, Methodologic al Issues, Others
Review Process of Submission
A program committee will review the abstracts. Based on relevance to the field, quality of the abstract, availability of time and space, and the preference of the author(s), the committee will decide whether a research abstract will be accepted as an oral presentation or a poster.
Oral Presentation Format
1. The standard time for an oral presentation is 15 minutes for the presentation plus 3 minutes for discussion.
2. The presentation language can be either English or Chinese, but English is preferred.
Poster Format
We recommend you to present the poster by A0 size in portrait orientation, with the poster material in columns (vertically) instead of rows (horizontally) for the ease of reading. Poster contents should be easy to read using high contract colors (for example, black lettering on a white background). Pins, magnets and tapes will be provided in the Meeting for mounting posters to the boards.
Call for Symposia Abstracts
TSCN is inviting abstracts for symposia to be held during the 2026 TSCN Annual Meeting. All submissions will be evaluated by the Program Committee.
Symposia should deal with contemporary research topics in all fields of cognitive neuroscience.
Guidelines for Symposium Themes
1. Symposia can be organized along the lines of content (e.g., neural bases of working memory, visual perception, etc.) or methodology (e.g., multivoxel pattern classification, tDCS, etc.).
2. We encourage novel and/or interdisciplinary themes, especially the ones that present advances and/or conflicting views in rapidly developing areas of research in cognitive neuroscience.
3. We prefer talks within a symposium to be modestly related; cross-referencing among them are especially encouraged.
Guidelines for Presentation
1. The duration of a symposium is 80 minutes, and each presentation is suggested to be
between 15 to 20 minutes (including discussion).
2. Each symposium should have at least 4 speakers.
Guidelines for Symposium Submission
1. The submission should include one abstract about the symposium theme and separate abstracts of individual talks.
2. Submissions from young investigators as symposium organizers are especially encouraged.
3. The symposium organizer(s) must be current TSCN members, but invited speakers are not required to be TSCN members.
4. All speakers are required to register for the meeting.
5. All speakers are limited to participate in one symposium.
6. All speakers can submit individual posters and/or oral presentations with title(s) different from his or her symposium talk. See “Call for Oral Presentations and Posters Abstracts” for oral presentations/posters submission guidelines).
Registration
No registration fee is required for the 2026 TSCN Annual Meeting, however, the presenters of accepted abstracts and any individual (member or non-member) who intend to attend this meeting need to register on-line at the following link: http://register.tw-scn.org/
Membership Fee for Abstract Submission
The first author of the research needs to be a valid TSCN member when the abstract is submitted. The membership fee is as follows:
• Regular Member – Entrance Fee: NTD $500 / Annual Fee: NTD $1000
• Student Member – Entrance Fee: NTD $250 / Annual Fee: NTD $500
Student membership requires the applicant to be an enrolled master or PhD student.
