Before choosing your TEFL course, we recommend checking the TEFL Course Directory to see where the program is listed in relation to other programs. The TEFL course industry is often corrupt, with some companies going to extraordinary lengths to promote fake positive reviews and hide legit negative reviews. Trusted TEFL Reviews - https://trustedteflreviews.com/ - is a non-profit website, so we can't be bought by any TEFL company and we never delete a review that has been vetted as coming from a reliable source (AKA a TEFL course graduate). The best-rated schools in the directory are top-rated for a legitimate reason.
You might be surprised to learn that outright TEFL scams are actually quite rare. However, grey areas exist whereby some TEFL programs lie, for example, about their accreditation status. Some TEFL companies have also gotten into the custom of charging their students hidden extras both during the course and upon completion. TEFL students and graduates contact us to let us know about this - to keep us updated on the latest grey area scams - and we always publish these warnings in the TEFL Scams section of the website.
Trusted TEFL Reviews is a non-profit website. We are able to run the website without a commercial bent because we are a group of English teachers - made up of mostly American ex-pats - living in working in Vienna, Austria. We decided to start Trusted TEFL Reviews because all of us realized that we ran into the same sketchy behavior from TEFL companies when we were enrolling in our TEFL courses. It was, and still is our hope that we can clean up the TEFL industry - making it a more transparent industry.
Because of this ethical and moral commitment, we don't accept any payment from any TEFL companies.
The only (free) advertising allowed is granted to the winner of the Teachers' Choice Award - an annual prize that is awarded to the TEFL program with the most positive (verified) feedback from the previous year.
This year's prestigious Teachers' Choice Award was awarded to teflonlinepro.com. This is the third year in a row that TEFL Online Pro has been voted the top TEFL/TESOL certification course provider.

The reality of our position as co-owners of an unbiased TEFL course review website is that we are often pressured to delete negative reviews. This is something that we never do. Some TEFL companies view a negative review as an opportunity to further improve their product and service, and some TEFL companies view a negative review as an opportunity to try and deflect attention away from the reputable aspect of that review by trying to undermine the authority of Trusted TEFL Reviews.
When a TEFL company consistently acts inappropriately, we always call them out on their actions.
We invite you to read the verified TEFL student reviews on Trusted TEFL Reviews, to submit a review of your Online TEFL/TESOL course experience, and we welcome more vetted TEFL companies to add their listing to Trusted TEFL Reviews.
