- Foot drop is a medical condition where an individual cannot lift the front part of their foot and rotate it about the ankle.
- Foot drop usually occurs due to weakness in the dorsiflexion muscles resulting from stroke, spinal cord injuries, and other neuromuscular diseases. It is most prevalent among older populations.
- Individuals with foot drop are prone to falling and tripping, often developing a steppage gait to cope with the condition.
