Trooper was adopted thru Dog’s 2^nd Chance and will be 4 years old in October.

In the Fall of 2016 Honey, Trooper's mama, was found wandering the streets. She was taken in by one of Dog's 2nd Chance's foster moms. She was loved and fed, then suddenly grew quite huge! Honey had 9 puppies. She is an awesome mama dog! Trooper the Dog was discovered on a Facebook post from Dog’s 2^nd Chance. He and the rest of the puppies had been dressed up and posed for Christmas photos hoping to find a loving home. On Black Friday in 2016, while everyone was shopping, we went to visit Trooper and the puppies while they were doing a well visit at the vet's office. We got to take him home that day!

Trooper was a good puppy. He chewed on a few things, but not many. For a while we thought we were blessed with a non-shedding dog, but he eventually revealed that he liked to bless us with a tremendous amount of fur. That’s when we decided to not allow him on furniture. This was a great decision and to this day he still doesn’t jump on furniture or beds. He doesn’t chew up stuff or mess up the house. He's just a great dog! We love him so much, fur and all.

Trooper is an easy-going dog and likes to sit on the steps and pose with hats. He has an underbite, which makes him look like he has a big grin.

Trooper’s favorite hobbies include laying in the dirt after getting a shower with the garden house, chasing squirrels and chipmunks, catching dog treats, playing with squeaky toys, watching for the school bus, licking his paws like a cat, laying in the sunshine after being in the air conditioning for hours, laying on bean bags for a nap, begging for microwave popcorn, walking at the park, whining when he sees other dogs, and loving people.

His highlight of 2020 so far is trying to dress up like Carol Baskin from Tiger King. His latest highlight is being able to sponsor the Mutt Strut 5K. Enjoy pictures of Trooper. He will sure bring you a smile.
