TROMSØ PICKLEBALL OPEN

What?

Pickleball is a fun and challenging paddle sport that is currently exploding in North America.  Easy to learn, difficult to master!  It has only been in Tromsø since August 2022.   New to pickleball?  Here's a great tutorial.  Want to try it for free with TSI Pickleball?  Click here to register.

When?

The 7th Tromsø Pickleball Open will take place on 17 & 18 October 2026.

Where?

Stakkevollan idrettshall, Utsikten 51, 9018 Tromsø

We'll aim to run a full slate of events:

• Men's Doubles, Women's Doubles, Mixed Doubles, Men's Singles, Women's Singles

• Each event will have two classes: Beginner (3.0) & Intermediate+ (3.5+).

Each event will be limited, potentially to 8 teams (doubles events) or 8 players (singles events).  (This may be adapted depending on registration numbers.)

For each event class, we will have two phases of play:

• 1. Round-robin phase: Organized into pools if necessary.  Each match is a single game to 11 points (win by 2, except for max 15; e.g. you can win 15-14.) Advancement to playoffs: TBA.  (Potentially, top 2 in each pool advance.)

  2. Playoff phase: Semifinals & Finals, Bronze matches are best 2 out of 3 games (each game until 11 points, win by 2).  Because of time constraints, there will likely be no quarterfinal round.

NOTE: The organizers reserve the right to adjust the format depending on registration numbers and other factors in order to ensure a smooth event.
